I'm watching Game 6 of SA/NO and the ESPN ticker said that John Ireland of KCAL 9 is reporting that Rambis is a "lead candidate" for the Phoenix job. Great for him!! Rambis is such a class guy and I hope he gets an opportunity as a head coach. As weird as it would be I would instantly become a semi-Sun fan cause I have appreciated Rambis ever since he played for those great teams back in the day and I wish him the best!

As much as I'd love to see Rambis have an opportunity to be a head coach in the NBA, I think Avery Johnson would be a better fit in Phoenix.

Kurt Rambis coach the Suns? Thats so wrong, if Im Rambis I settle for being an assistant coach before I coach the fat aristotle and anyone from the valley of the sun. Thats like Magic Johnson coaching the Celtics, it aint right. I hope he gets a job someday, but not the suns, anyone but the suns...

I'm out

I know Bosh but Kurt did play in Phoenix as well when AC Green took over the PF spot a while back.  I think he's earned a shot but kind of hearing the sports talk radio, a lot of the HC interviews for the Suns job is just the 1st round ... even Terry Porter is getting a shot as well.  Weird thing is Bryon Scott right now has a opt out clause in his contract with New Orleans ... that's my surprise pick.

Logic - OK you have CP3, but then you get Nash - not to bad of a loss
He's back in the West Coast, while New Orleans is contending now ... you know they will probably spend the money for a coach as well as players in Phoenix as opposed to New Orleans.

Just a thought ...

HAHa..I guess the Suns really hate us. They got our former center and failed to beat us and now they gonna get our assistant coach to be their head coach. Like I said before, I think Avery Johnson is a perfect candidate for them. Avery Johnson is a defensive minded coach, who also runs half court offense. Mavs should never traded for Kidd, they were supposed to trade for Shaq coz Shaq fits in to Avery system more. Instead, they brought in a fast paced Jason Kidd to run their half court offense. I certainly don't want to see  Kurt Rambis coaching Phoenix, but not as much as seeing A. Johnson to coach the Suns.

Too bad we never had the chance to eliminate D'Antoni, who was taunting Phil Jackson earlier this season after a regular season loss saying that they beat us in playoff for 2 straight yrs and will do it again this yr. Well, we are 3-1 against D'Antoni this season and would have been 4-1 or 4-0 against them in the playoff. Looking forward beating the crap out of Knicks next season!

How could you say that you would become a semi-Suns fan? As crazy as it would be to see Rambis on the suns sideline, and by the way, good for him if he gets the chance, I would never, EVER say I am a semi-suns fan. And its not just because I hate the suns either. He could coach the Grizzlies next year and I wouldnt say Im a semi-Grizzlie fan. Where is your loyalty? Lakers forEVER!!!

Rambo is a class act a smart intelligent basketball mind.

He always made the most with what he had. What he lacked in talent he made up with intelligence and hard work.

Suns already lack the talent so maybe he can instil the hard work and good attitude

I would hate to see Rambis go I get the feeling he could be the coach of the future once Phil retires.

Plus I would really hate to see him go to the Suns because I think he could do a great job there and actually make them play defense something that overrated ass D'Asstoni never could do!!

I'm with you on Rambo staying put.  He needs to wait it out, Phil won't be around much longer.  But you never know maybe he knows something we don't like the Lakers don't plan to make him the head coach.  He's got to take care of himself first.

Rambo was one of my favorite players in his day, you knew he would give you 100% every time he hit the hardwood and he was going to be a pain in the a_ _ to some opposing player.
