Whoa....ANGER!

dolphinollie only posted a thread about college basketball in a time when there isn't many.  Do you always get angry when people dare to question the absolute perfection of KU basketball?

This is stupid. So what if Darrel Aurther wasnt elidgble to play. Hey, 3/4 of the Memphis players probably all attended Junior Colleges and other pre-college leuges. The NCAA should worry about other things other than grades.

My anger is at the TV station who aired the teacher's violation of privacy laws in order to boost ratings, and only peripherally at those who help spread the speculation. Since when is a former teacher (happen to be one myself) an authority to be quoted on whether or not the NCAA clearinghouse report needs to be retroactively amended? The teacher's retirement benefits should be rescinded, the principal was already fired for similar violations of his duty, the coach may get away clean again, but maybe not.

You say, "dolphinollie only posted a thread about college basketball in a time when there isn't many. ''

That isn't the only thing he did. He also put a title on the thread. Tell me he was only trying to entertain the poor masses starving for anything on college basketball.

All KU fans, and others that think this is a NON-issue are simply hoping for the best (for KU). The fact is that every school is responsible for loking into and verifying that the transcripts are real ABOVE AND BEYOND the Clearancehouse of the NCAA. KU failed to catch this. I do NOT think KU will be striped of SCHOLORSHIPS, but I wouldn't be one bit surprised if every game DA was suited up is forfited.....

Point being that the NCAA can determine whether or not he IS OR SHOULDbe deemed eligible....

All of KU administrators(sp?) are VERY tight liped. They are playing the wait and see.....

Will KU forfiet if he is deemed by the NCAA as Inelgible???

Come on KU62.  He just started a thread about what was relevant in college basketball.  If you don't agree, take it up with ESPN and their shows including Pardon the Interruption.

It's ok to talk about things that aren't absolutely glowing about your program.  They may or may not be valid, but the story does exist.  Don't call him names because of it.

You are the only one I ever heard this from. From what fountain of knowledge did you glean this "responsibility?"

KU62, you can take your anger out on me if you like, but it doesn't change the facts reported in black and white and by TV and now is a hot topic at ESPN. If you had read all the responses within the post before you flew in to some childish display of rage, you would see that my only comments were in the first line of the post. Everything else was just copied and pasted.

If I were you I wouldn't be so confident this story will be over in a day or two. So F you and the horse you rode up on you turd.

Wow turd! you are a teacher? Then you should know you have to put a title to create a tread.

Well what really matters here is that KU will end up in worse shape then all these, "it's a non issue" types..... It doesn't matter if you didn't know he was a FFFFFFFFFFFF student, the fact is the school has to make sure all they are qualified. Heck when I went to college outside of  "qualifying" with my ACT, AND Transcripts, I was required to take an ENTRANCE Exam, and that was wayyy wayyy back in 1991.....

This kid is a cheat. He allowed it to happen. He became a part of KU, and it is very unfortunate that other better people are going to suffer. I DO feel sorry for the other players that actually busted their ass to study as hard as they played.

Personally I do not like KU. I'm a MU guy. I despise KU the week of our football game, however I have many, many KU friends. I treat them well as we jostle/joke about the hatred, but in this instance although KU might (might being a operative word here) not known about this in any way, it still doesn't absolve KU.

I'd be very surprised if KU doesn't have some type of punishment (self inflicted is what I'm talking about, forfiting the games and such).... I seriously doubt the NCAA would slam on KU if they own up to playing a player that  had no business playing.... clearinghouse or not, it is the universities responsibilty to ensure that all documents are correct and valid... This is where KU failed. This is why the 2008 banner is in grave danger to be hung in lawrence.
KU fans, don't respond with hate...

Edge,

You are an idiot.

The reason players go through the clearinghouse is to ensure that all documents are correct and valid.

Any "illegal" activities happened when the player was NOT at the University of Kansas.

The NCAA gave the green light and said the player was eligible to play.

"Personally I do not like KU.  I'm a MU guy."

Really that is all you needed to say in your post.  Everything else is just biased idiocy.

  • ''... you should know you have to put a title to create a tread.''
You are now pretending the title you composed was innocuous?
  • Find two keys farther apart on your keyboard than ? and !
  • Pick a wrong letter in the first name that comes closer to a slur on intelligence.
  • Choose a verb more incriminating than you used in your accusation.
Enlighten me please, so I won't continue to labor under the conception that you were being malicious, and now disingenuous. KU62, you can take your anger out on me if you like,I do like, and I try to furnish what is asked for. I'm not acquainted well enough to judge you, just your actions.
but it doesn't change the facts reported in black and white and by TV and now is a hot topic at ESPN.The "facts" are that the Dallas TV station assisted a disgruntled employee in violating state confidentiality laws, assuming his allegations are factual, and that other news outlets are reserving judgment while reporting on WTFF's 'investigative' reporting.
So F you and the horse you rode up on you turd.
Wow turd! you are a teacher?
Angry as I was/am, I didn't/won't stoop to name calling. I described your actions in an accurate, appropriate manner and conveyed my permission for you to continue in more of the same. If I am the angry one, why do you feel a need for the use of derogatory epithets?

I am retired, so you needn't stress that point.
... is a former teacher (happen to be one myself) an authority ...
I look forward to further discussion of our differing points of view.

Any MU fan posting has no credibility.  Your program is about as clean as a crack house.

As for this issue.  KU had nothing to do with it, but the NCAA is so screwed up that sometihng could come from it.  I like all the people saying that Darrell is to blame and such.  He was freshman and had no idea what was going on.  Just another example of players with great skill being taking advvantage of by insane adults (see OJ Mayo).  These kids are at such an impressionable age that the difference between right and wrong can be blurred very easily (sp?).  Instead of helping Darrell, the powers that be felt it necessary to just let him slide by.  Very sad.

I hope KU doesnt get hit because of something they had no control over.  But when it comes to the NCAA, your guess is as good as mine.

That's why whistleblower laws are in place.  To protect someone when they have the COURAGE to speak up.  Are you sure it's a disgruntled employee?  Could it possibly be that the teacher was tired of keeping it a secret.  Could it be the teacher was still seeing it occuring, regardless of which school it occured, and felt that it is time to stop it.  If you really believe that this is a case of someone out to submarine KU, then ask y
