There will be no Game 6. The 'Guins will end this charade with swift brutality on Sunday. The Pens will rip the Flyers' bleeding heart from out of their chests, show it to them, then pimpslap them with it.
Hope you had your little fun, boys. It's over now.

Well said yadayadayada...I agree 100%
Kimmo Timonen is hurt, him playing will add to the spirits of the players and fans of the Flyers, but he will be unlikely to be the difference maker overall. As it was pointed out in a previous post, Timonen is a very solid dman, but not Dion Phaneuf or Zdeno Chara. I really like and respect his game, but its not like Bobby Orr is dressing tomorrow.
It will be interesting to see how it unfolds tomorrow. The Flyers have tried to level the playing field the way the have many times before, by stretching the rules and attempting to turn the game into a brawl. If the refs did their job correctly, the Penguins would have had 4 power plays in a period, not 4 total in the last two games. Hopefully some of the crap the Flyers pulled at home will be noticed in Pittsburgh. It gets a little old having to watch it, I said five to begin with and I am sticking to it. If the Pens get hot early, it will be lights out and it could be a blowout. I sure hope so...

Crosby has the best hands and feet combination with the puck. He is unbelievable at making plays with his feet. All around Crosby is more to worry about with his play making ability.
He gets everyone involved while Ovechkin just scores. Oveckin is a much better pure scorer. The Penguins were very lucky getting Crosby and getting Malkin the same year they were hoping to get Ovechkin but didn't land the #1 pick. I am glad the Penguins got Malkin and not Ovechkin though I wouldn't mind having Ovechkin either. Washington needs a few play makers and more defenseman and they will be solid for years to come.
I think for the next fews years that will be the big rivalry in the Eastern Conference. The Eastern Conference is a lot more talent rich with the younger players in the NHL.
Washington Capitals vs. Pittsburgh Penguins. OVechkin vs. Crosby and Malkin
Philadelphia has a chance to be a mainstay of power if they can land another big free agent or two because they have a good young core. Boston is also in there with young talent.

"The only thing good in philly is um um um actually nothing."
Hey guinsalltheway, you seem like a classy person. For your information, Philly is a great place to visit with a ton of history. I was born in Philly and I now live in North Carolina. I visited Pittsburgh on business for 2 weeks, and fortunately stayed in Monroeville, not Pittsburgh. After being there that long, coming back to Carolina was a blessing. That place was depressing, and seemed to be very old. I don't care what people say, the air quality there is way worse than Philly. SMOG!!! Philly is a huge city, and there is a lot to do there. The Declaration of Indepence, Penns Landing, Liberty Bell, South Street, World Class Restaurants, and All 4 Major Sports Teams. If the Flyers come back, and I will be sure to return the class you have shown us and rub a cheesesteak from Jim's, Pat's, or Geno's in your face. LETS GO FLYERS!!!!!!!!

What an underestimation of talent on the Flyers. To say they try to even the playing field by bending the rules and turning games into a brawl shows only that you haven't seen many Flyers games this year. They have a very talented team, they can skate and play a physical style that blend well with the mix of players they have. They have a great young core of players and will be around for some time.
What kind of crap did the Flyers "pull" at home and get away with?
LET'S GO FLYERS!!!!!

yada...
I am not underestimating anything. I have seen the Flyers plenty, both in person and on TV. They have some excellent talent to be certain, Kimmo Timonen is a terrific defenseman, Braydon Coburn is a nice young player to be sure. Darian Hatcher has mainly been a slow, overated cheap shot artist who needs to retire. Joffrey Lopul and Jason Smith are fine players, no doubt. Mike Richards and Hartnell are tough and can do it on both ends of the ice. R.J. Umberger is doing well also. Daniel Briere was overpaid and is soft. Martin Biron can be excellent when he is on.
That being said, the talent level is simply not the same compared to the Pens. No biggie, it was not a shot at the Flyers or did it mean I was underestimating their talent. Realistically, the only team with comprible talent is Detroit. That does mean the Pens or Detroit will win the cup, but it looks like a safe bet.
To answer your question, the cheap shot Steve Downie took on Peter Sykora after the Pens scored a goal was one example, another one was the slashes Richards gave Sidney Crosby late in game four. As for speaking generally, if you looked at it objectively, you would see that the Flyers toe the line constantly when it comes to cross checks, cheap shots, interference with goalies, along with other crap that teams need to do when they need an equalizer to beat a talented, better team.
The Pens had 4 power plays in two games. The Flyers in game 4, though playing much more physical and doing a variety of things, some bordering on what some would consider illegal, had 3 power plays in the first period. I dont know about you, but it seems a little bit off to me...
If I have indeed underestimated the talent level of the Flyers, why does it always seem to be the same old, same old with them? Why do they need to play cheap and take shots at the other team? Or assault the opponents goalie in order to tap in a cheapy that should not count if refs were doing their jobs? Interesting that the Pens players never seem to resort to that to score a goal or gain a competitive advantage. I hope this clears it up a bit, even though I am sure you disagree, which is no problem!
To the poster who bashed Pittsburgh as a city, sorry you feel that way. I have been to Philadelphia many, many times in my life and some close friends there. I have always enjoyed my time there and always have fun. I think your views of my city are not only insulting, they are flat-out wrong, (except for the age thing) Pittsburgh is a gem of a city where people are friendly, there are plenty great bars and restaurants, and our sports teams win consistently. We also do not have a notoriously poor reputation as a fanbase something that I am very proud of, as I am of my city.
Dont worry though, stay in North Carolina or Philly or wherever you are from, we dont need you anyway or your cheesesteak to the face...

jgberc, I was not talking to you. I was replying to an idiot bashing the city of Philadelphia. If you are referring to the Flyers fan base, then you are wrong. During many losing seasons they have sold out the old Spectrum to the new one. In terms of bashing your city, I was merely telling that other poster that the city of Philadelphia is one of the top 4 cities in the U.S. He just needed to hear about my time in Pittsburgh.
Your view on the Flyers is very biased. We don't have to go into the details, but I do not think you are being fair about describing the Flyers style of play and talent. The Flyers are a good young team, and are being overlooked by Penguins fans right now. Montreal overlooked us, and look where they are now. Maybe this series will heat up a little more. For now, I am just happy it is not over. Being swept is a bad feeling.
