Is anyone else planning on going to what might shape up to be the most exciting Bump Day in a dozen years?  Bump Day happens to be on my birthday this year, May 18th, so I am trying to convince my wife that is all I want this year.  I propose that any of us that are going should meet in a designated spot to at least say hello and meet face to face.  Holler at me and let me know what you think.

Chris

My birthday is May 19th, so I've always had the good fortune of spending a bunch of them drunk at the Brickyard. I'm on the west coast so unfortunately I won't be in town for this one, just glued to the TV.

Bump Day should be incredible this year with upwards of 40 cars jockeying for 33 spots in the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.

Unfortunate, Irie.  Is there any autograph or souvenir you are interested in.  I may be able to swing something for on of the best posters on this site.

Thanks man, I'm set on gear. Spend it on Mother's Day instead!

I agree that this will be the best bump day in years.  Let the weather gods shine on May weekends in Indy.  The race should be amazing.  I won't be there for Bump Day but if you're close enough to make it, do it.  I am excited.  40 cars wow.  Now the rest of the country has to understand NASCAR isn't the only game in the USA.  Open Wheel Rocks and I can't wait for each weekend this May.  See you at the race.

bump day should be awsome this year.  I will be in Orlando so its the TV for me.  My 22nd anniversary is the 18th.  Hope my wife doesn't mind spending it watching the cars go round.  I agree that the IRL is pretty hot right now.  I am kind of board with the nascar races anyway.  I used to live for Sundays to catch the races.  Lately, if I see them fine, if not, no lose there either.  But the IRL is different.  I try to make a point of watching those races.  The length of the race and the competition really work.

My ultimate day however is the Memorial Day Sunday!  Breakfast with the F1 in Monaco, lunch with the Indy 500 and dinner with the Coke 600.  One whole day of doing nothing but keeping the couch from flying up into the celing!  That is the ticket.  Just miles of racing!

Good stuff there at the end! I don't know what the vibe was at the track, but it was riveting television. Now that's a proper Bump Day.
