There is a ton of crow to go around today.  All of the salary cap posts that were posted when free agency hit can now go straight to hells bells.

No salary cap in 2010.... Do you Raider-Haters understand what that means?

Not only did you have the option to dump players --and contracts--following the 2009 season, but now you can keep those contracts if there producing because in 2010, there is NO salary cap.

Can you say, " Perfect Timing " ?  Come on, altogether now, " Perfect Timing " .....  Ahh, 2010, just in time for the backloaded contracts to kick in.

From realfootball.com....and I quote,

"After the uncapped 2010 season, there's no way to know what percentage of revenues will be committed to players, but that gives the Raiders three seasons to determine if the recent signees are going to help return the team to glory. If not, most of the contracts can be dumped in time for whatever new agreement is in place at the start of the 2011 season.

In other words, Davis played the situation perfectly by making it rain in Oakland."

Does Crow just taste like hay ?  Or does it have an aftertaste ?

Where are all the haters now?

Like I said, if these guys don't produce, we can dump them at no, thats right, zero cap hit.

So, seriously where are all the idiots claiming the Raiders were in "salary cap hell"?

Oh but 420 i thought that AL Davis was a shriveled up prune.

Honestly every one loves to hate on the Raiders (ESPN) but this is the year we will be much improved.

Funny comming from a fan of a team that just picked up one of the Raiders worst players in Chris Carr and overpaid the crap out of him.

Nice response thought, very intelligent and well thought out.

Face it Haters, he (Al) made the right move(s)

I'm not a Raider hater.  Their fans are very loyal.  I disagree that Al made the right moves.  Overpaying these guys is no better than taking Janikowski in the first rd.  Picking a complete flop of an O lineman with a top 5 pick.  Getting a DT sized QB with a top 5 pick.  I'll excuse the o-line one because at least he was attempting to build in the trenches but honestly,  AL Davis hasn't made a brilliant move since he looked like a living human being.

You assume the cap is going away, which it may not.  Let's say you're right.  Everyone else can get rid of guys too.  Everyone else can spend a bunch of money.  Why would the top players go to the organization rebuilding AGAIN, instead of a contender.  I don't think the team will be as attractive as you think.  Money will be their only hope.  I think teams like Dallas and Washington will blow away any offers Al makes though.  Their owners have proven they will pay big $$.

I hope you're right and I'm wrong.  You guys have suffered long enough. Good luck.

JaMarcus Russell to Javon Walker is not worth the money he spent, salary cap or not.

420, you don't really think they won't have another collective barganing agreement in place before 2010 do you?  They have about a year to make a new agreement before there is actually an uncapped year or work stoppage.  They basically did this because rookie salaries are out of control and the only way to get a rookie cap was to opt out of the old agreement.  They also did it because the change in America's economy is hurting the teams with average revenue streams (most of the league) and basically benifited the high revenue teams and low revenue teams.  By the time March 2009 or what ever month it is rolls around they will have another deal in place and the Raiders are going to have the same cap issues that you are saying Al is so smart for avoiding.  There is too much to lose with both the players and the owners to not have a cap.  A lot of people though that this year would be uncapped until they signed this agreement 2 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Russell handoffs to Fargas who pitches it to DMac on the end around who tosses it to Walker

now that's not worth the money

From the look of comments people are throwing that crow back in your face.  The owners opting out the the CBA only means there will be no cap if a new deal isnt reached.  Overspending on players is never smart regardless of the cap hit.  Next year is still capped and the Raiders will have trouble making that, not to mention this years cap.  They still have a lot of trimming of fat to be able to sign their picks.

they were just in the Superbowl in 2002!!!

It was a matter of who Tampa Bay was going to beat that year.  I don't think that team was really that good.  I never thought they had a real shot. Neither did Gruden.

That's not nearly enough suffering!!!!

Okay, have it your way.  Draft more corners and secondary players in the first round like you did for years and don't address any of the team's real problems.  Is that better?
