Twinkies is right. Theres been something like 13 horses since the last triple crown winner that have won both the Derby and the Preakness, but failed to win on the longer Belmont course. Smarty Jones is the perfect example, who was getting EVEN LOWER odds in the Belmont Stakes than Big Brown is, and he ran out of gas in the home stretch, and lost. It is true that the rest of the field is less talented than in previous years, but nothing is a lock, especially in horse racing. Trainers that have ridden BB this week have reported that he seems out of control and not himself. With the added concerns with his hoof, I don't see how anyone can still call this a "lock."
