It's amazing how many people are willing to throw Lynch under the bus based upon this story, which leaves out a plethora of details.  Assuming Lynch WAS the driver, leaving the scene is probably only a misdemeanor charge.  It doesn't mean he is liable for the accident.  The pedestrian was leaving a bar **red flag** and was struck by the right side of Lynch's bumper as he was making a left turn.  No mention of any traffic violation, which means the pedestrian had to be in the middle of the road if Lynch was in the left turn lane.  Jaywalkers run the risk of getting hit when they cross on a red light.  This doesn't excuse Lynch from stopping and helping the lady, especially if it tore the bumper of his car off.  I'd like to hear more about this story before more assumptions are made.

If it's unfair to make assumptions about Lynch it is just as unfair to to the same about the pedestrian.   Just because no charges have been filed doesn't mean that they won't so you can't assume this person was jaywalking....

i am waiting for everything to come out before passing blame on anyone but I will say it's doubtful the pedestrian was jaywalking

It's pretty hard to jaywalk at an intersection unless your going against the light. It would must have been green to the SUV since it was a left turn.  That means that the pedestrian was not crossing against the light.

If the SUV was just rolling down a straight road I would be more inclined to think jaywalking

Unless of course she was crossing the street Lynch was turning from, not turning onto.  Again, more facts are needed before this situation can be properly analyzed.

She'd still have the right of way, unless she ran(or stumbled) out diagonally into the street.

I agree that facts need to come out, but wouldn't you think whoever was driving would have known they hit something?  It's still a crime not to stop even if it's an inanimate object.
