First of all, I am a Celtics fan. But honestly Paul Pierce, you were not as badly hurt as you made it out to be and you know it. How can I complain too much, though, as when he returned, the crowd when absolutely nuts and swung the momentum for the rest of the game. I am sure that Pierce's knee really did hurt him when it happened, but I find it unlikely that he had to be carried off of the court. When he returned, he showed no signs of a limp and had only a very light bandage/brace on the knee. As he left the court after the game was over, he was positively skipping. But since it essentially ensured that they would win the game, as a Celtic fan, I have to declare that it was a brilliant move of stage drama with complete disregard for any means of sportsmanship whatsoever.
And does anyone remember Stephen A. Smith talking about the series before it happened and saying, in effect, that the Celtics were the better team, but the Celtics don't have Kobe Bryant. (You can image him punctiating every word and acting like a person who once had a show simply because he has a middle intial...) The only problem with that is that what happened last night: Bryant cannot shoot the ball effectively. The Celtics saw this when LeBron James came to town. It was not the benches of the Lakers and Cavaliers that lost the games, it was the fact that sometimes the star just does not shoot well. I know that I am not alone when I wonder how these people get jobs in the first place...
