Who Wins The Cup In 2008/2009?

I know the season just ended and the draft is ready to happen, but just thought it would be fun to check on this at the end of next season to see who was spot on. So name the winners in the east and west and your Stanley Cup Champion in 2009. I'll start and forgive me fellow Pens fans if my team is not listed. But this is not about homerism or heart. It would be very easy to pick a rematch between the Wings and Pens. But here's my pick:

East- Montreal

West- San Jose

SCC- San Jose

It's early, no way do we know what anyone is going to do as you already stated Caress, but for sh!ts and giggles, here is my prediction for the 2009 Stanley Cup Champion.

East - Philadelphia Flyers (You know it!)

West - Detroit Red Wings (Lame to pick them, but they were so dominate all year long, and I just don't see much changing.)

Stanley Cup Champion - Flyers in 7

Alright, alright, I know homer pick, but its not that ridiculous to pick a team that made it to the Conference Finals, is it?

I will also predict this. There will be a repeat of this years Eastern Conference Finals next year, I can almost guarantee that.

Penguins vs. wings

i don't know. but that's my prediction. depends on what these teams do during the offseason.  Red Wings already signed a very good player playing in the finnish leagues.  they also have cap room to make a move or two this offseason. 

on the penguin side, they are young.  they have plenty of time.  i don't know who's a free agent except for hossa who they can do without.  they did play most of the season without him so if they need to get rid of anybody, i'd get rid of him.  malkin and crosby are there to stay.

My prediction is this....Pittsburgh will be strong once again and will make it to at least the Eastern Conference Finals (the Pens are my pick to win the Presidents Trophy for most regular season points in 08-09)where they will face the winner of the Southeast Divison(too early for me to pick a winner between Washington, Carolina and Florida...i need to see who is drafted and who the free agents are)... I like the Flyers to also be in the thick of things and for Montreal to win the Northeast...

Detroit will win the  Central..... Dallas will win the Pacific and the Northwest will be another dogfight with all 5 teams above .500 with Colorado coming on top....When the dust is settled out West Dallas will emerge as the Western Conference champ....

Just to play Devils advocate...I like Washington and Dallas in the finals next season(and I hate the Caps but the NHL will do anything to market Ovechkin and Crosby to create ratings)....Dallas will win the Cup
