here is the kicker.
rookie salaries go up EVERY YEAR. each year they have gotten larger and larger, they NEVER go down. just like inflation, unless you have a economy crash, prices will continue to go up. rookies earn more money, cable gets more expensive, tickets, beer, ect.... its the business cycle. mcfadden got paid more money than peterson... is he worth more? im sure the Falcons worked the lowest contract they could offer, and get his agent to take. trust me.
i really hope they install a rookie cap, like the nba. i think they can make it work, they will just need to be very creative to work in free agency, as well as when a player can restructure, bonuses, ect. the vets are pushing for it i believe, because they dont believe, just like i dont believe that larger rookie contracts drives up veteran contracts... think about it... vets are cut to make cap room for rookies, they arnt offered contract extensions due to high draft picks as well.... green upshaw is full of it.
