From chatting with some friends in Rocky Top, it's clear that although he pulled a good season, Fulmer still isn't really out of the woods with fans. S here's a question to you all: Say you were AD of TN, would you keep the fat man?
I forgot to add--and explain why, either way. I voted no, simply because I believe that the game has passed the old boy: He can still recruit somewhat, but his play calling sucks, and TN needs some spark. He's been riding on the tail of his NC for going on 10 yrs; TN isn't really a super threat in the SEC anymore (think of all the teams better--). So if I were AD, I'd campaign for a new HC.
I think that Tennessee AD is looking at it from an economic standpoint. First, if Phil were to leave Knoxville there would be masses of job losses in the restaraunt services industry, especially that of fast food. A recent study found that Phil is single handily responsible for 27.4% of the gross revenues of Knoxville's restaraunts.
Second, the loss of Fulmer would mean that UT might not recruit the country's worst thug athletes, which in turn would dramatically decrease the amount of business that local defense attorneys have. However, the Knoxville crime is estimated to drop by around 35% if UT football no longer existed.
Tennessee is no longer a serious threat to much of anyone in the S.E.C. I guess if your team is not up for them they could sneak by you. They werent the best in the east last year, georgia could have killed them by as much as bama did at least...Fulmer is more of a threaT off the field ,see Alabama.......
