Clay this article is exactly how I feel when watching the games on that broadcast.  The question now becomes how long into the first HD broadcast do the cameras fail???

Clay says:

"I've already received lots of emails from Gator fans asking if this is my revenge on them for last year's 59-20 thrashing of my Vols in Gainesville, a 12:30 kickoff on Aug. 30. I never thought I'd say it, but good luck to Gators fans.

Nevertheless I'd be lying if some part of me didn't think Raycom believes HD means physically at the Home Depot. I'm halfway expecting to turn on Hawaii at Florida and see Dave Rowe wearing an orange apron sitting underneath a covered swing-set saying, "Boy, have we got a great game to start off the 2008 season for you. Live at HD." Guffaws and chortles will ensue before we cut back to the broadcast to see sideline reporter Dave Baker sticking his head inside Albert the Alligator's mouth to better report on how hot it is for the mascot on an August game day on the surface of Hell."

This has got to be the funniest 2 paragraphs you have had in a while. Wow! Still laughing....

Just because the games are going to be broadcast in HD does not mean everyone will see them in HD.  Much like every other television property, if your local station does not have HD capabilities, then it won't matter to you.  Other than the fact that the SD picture you see on your crappy local station will get better. So...unless your local station BROADCASTS the game in HD, you will still be watching SD.  Enjoy

In addition to potentially failing cameras will Raycom be financially able to immediately replace cameras when "sprited" SEC revelers carry another goalpost cam out of the stadium and toss it into the river (i.e.- UT-UF circa 1998)???  or will there be a 3-4 week/year period of missing shots from the broadcasts???

RAYCOM has been a thorn in the side of the ACC for decades...but at this point, we'll take what we can get.  Bring on the HD.

Imagine living on Tobacco Road and being forced to suffer through RAYCOM's rinky-dink broadcast of the Duke/UNC game knowing that the rest of the nation was watching in glorious HD on ESPN!

You know, the sad thing is that Raycom has purported their basketball games to be in HD from at least last season.  Watching on a great TV on stations with full HD capacity, the images could best be described as, well, medium-def.

But you forgot that Dave "Big Man on Big Man" Rowe was replaced last year by another Dave.....Archer.

What are the chances of Clay being a guest on one of the HD Broadcasts?  That could be interesting

3 Daves will be a Saturday mid-day constant for yet another year.
