Mano - Let me say this. You , Hoya and FOT (in his dry humorous way) have been fairly reasonable. We have had good discussion about each of the positions strengths and weaknesses on both teams, not to mention schedules and history. It has all been very stimulating, classy and sometimes hilarious. When bum posts some reasonable argument they have been real contributors to the discussion.  However, getting off topic with comments like:

Yea I heard. They are the next NY Giants. Shaun Rogers, Corey Williams and Robaire Smith are the next Strahan, Umenyiora and Tuck.

is not a discussion.  Its irrelevant to the topic of the Browns secondary. You are talking about me playing the disrespect card? Now that's funny.   At least you have stayed on topic and actually made some good points. Can't say the above post fits that description. I joined this post for intelligent discussion. Yes, there I said it. There is intelligence in Steeler land.   As for your comment on the Browns being bulletproof. Isnt that an extreme statement?  I thought I did a fair job is acknowledging the trials and tribulations of the Browns as well as weaknesses. I'll have to re-read my posts if you think that. Just because we agree to disagree on the 50s Browns and the 70s Steelers? You accuse me of portraying bulletproof Browns? Also I've applauded/credited the Steelers on occasion and so have you with respect to the Browns.  However in my opinion if this thread is boiling down to pot shots instead of pot stirring , then it is no longer a discussion thread. If it returns to a discussion thread perhaps I'll be back. Meanwhile IMO its a hollow victory.

Let me rephrase (cause I like you Dog):

Dawg - I've heard many in hear comment that the Browns' acquisitions at D-line will help make up for the deficiency in the secondary (less time to throw ...yada yada yada). It seems to me that the guys they brought in are more of the run-stuffing variety then the pass rushing variety. If you also consider that the Browns play a 3-4 like the Steelers then the sacks will have to come from the outside. Do you have the personnel on the outside for that?

I find it hard to believe that you don't think this is true??

Do you have the personnel on the outside for that?

Come on, that is an easy question.  Wimbley and Peek

Come on, that is an easy question.  Wimbley and Peek I didnt mean do you have someone playing the position. I meant do you have someone who can play it well? Peek is a career backup. Wimbley had a great rookie year but where was he last year? In two games against Pittsburgh he had a combined 5 tackles, 0 sacks, 0 passes defended and 0 forced fumbles. We weren't exactly a fortress around Big Ben. Where was he?

bum its not hard to belive at all that having a solid dline will improve the entire defense. just like having a solid oline improves the entire offense(which it does). Wimbley is MORE than capable of being the man. Where was he last year?? Thats obvious our dline was attrocious last year, so he had no room to make plays. Your only helping to prove our point, by looking at last year, so thanks. Football comes down to controlling the lines of scrimmage, if Im wrong..prove it, but Im not. If you can control the lines of scrimmage you can win in the NFL (i think Ive said it 1,000,000 times). The Browns made moves last year to be able to control the offense side of the line, what happened? They went from one of the worst offenses in the NFL to one of the top offenses in the NFL (I know you dont attribute that to DA do you?). This year, they took steps to control the defensive line of scrimmage. Is it conciveble that they go from one of the worst defenses in the NFL to one of the better ones....No. All from just improving the dline. Will it happen or will the dline suck and not gel...OTWT, but Im just using the theory that to win you have to control the lines of scrimmage and the Browns have been making moves to do that. Something they have havent done in years.

dawg...I appreciate what you are trying to say, but I think that you are getting offended over nothing.  The bulletproof statement was just to show that neither team is perfect.  Neither team has filled all of its holes.  I wasn't accusing you of believing that the Browns are bulletproof, I was just making a point.  It seems to me that when one of us(Steelers fans) makes a comment about one of your units being less than stellar, its a slap in the face
