Then why won't Mayweather talk about him? Mention his name? He is scared, in my opinion. Not just my opinion, it's the opinion of many. Or maybe he is waiting for the winner of Cotto-De La Hoya, after Cotto wins his next fight which I think is July 26. Mayweather has declared retirement 3 times, so I don't quite believe it this time either.

Are you serious? Or just one of those people throwing in your 2 cents simply because a high profile boxer and best in th world is in the convo. I hate to burst your bubble but the Mayweather camp has challenged the Cotto camp at least twice in the past going back to as early as 3-4 years ago and it was Cotto and his people who backed out. Get your facts straight before you try to condemn the best boxer in the world of being scared to fight someone especially when that person is the one who is scared to fight him. And I like Cotto but he's a little to wrapped up in his annual near Puerto Rican day parade matchup.

And you can't say Mayweather will beat Cotto.

Sure he can. Mayweather is the best boxer in the world if you could say Mayweather is afraid of Cotto than this other poster could say Mayweather can beat him, and I agree. Cotto can't give a painful body blow if he'll never get the chance to land a clean one. Mayweather allowed De La Hoya to land blows to the body to show it didn't affect him and show up the fishnet wearing girl. Mayweather is not like these pieces of meat that Cotto is used to fighting if he wants to damage the body he has to actually earn it and if so Floyd will light him up because he will be left much more open than ever simply because Mayweather would be the best Cotto ever fought, Cotto may or may not be the best that Mayweather would fight.

sneaky , i couldnt have put that better myself, although with a few adendums. (1) cotto would make him un-prettyboy floyd (2) magherito would also knock him on his pompous arrogant behind. (3) if he fought oscar again, oscar wouldnt let him run and hide like he did the last fight. So there you have it 3 fighters who could and would end his undefeated streak. so let the chickenshit run away. can't blame him much though, if I had an undefeated record and could retire with all that cash, i'd probably do it to. nah better yet, i'd be a man and take my lumps, everyone needs their butt kicked atleast once to keep them honest.

Lifequest3,

I know you were reffering to someone else on that last comment but I'm sorry...I have to butt in. It seems that your are a die hard Mayweather fan and think he is unbeatable just because he is undefeated and he makes alot of his opponents look silly. I think Mayweather has the talent to be great but because he loves to hand pick his opponents, and loves the money, it makes him the bad guy. If you go out in public and say you are the best of all times (better than Ray Robinson) , you better have something better to back it up with. 6 titles in 5 weight classes is a hell of an accomplishment but when you look at who he beat to win those titles you begin to wonder...hmmmm? .....

130lb- Genaro Hernandez,  135-J.L. Castillo,  140lbs-A.Gatti,  147-Z.Judah, 154- De La Hoya. a combined loss total of 18 losses between them when he fought each of them.

I think Mayweather is unbeatable 135 or less. He is a god in my opinion in those weight classes but when he has moved up to the welterweights, he has pretty much said who he wants to fight. Every single fighter since he has moved up to welterweights has had more than 2 losses with the exception of "Overrated Hatton." If you go back 3-4 yrs when he entered the welterweights, the big names in these weight classes if my memory serves me right were Tzsyu, Margarito and Mosley. He never landed a mega fight with any of these 3 fighters. Why? because they can present him problems in the ring. Thats why. They all have heart and power and will come after him for 12 rounds. He doesn't want that. He learned his lesson in the 1st Castillo fight!

I also want to know through what source did you hear that Mayweather's camp was trying to land a fight with Cotto 3-4 yrs ago? I want to know when and where? I know some of the people that work in Cotto's camp and thats not what they've been saying. I hope you aren't actually believing what Mayweather and Ellerbe have been saying to the media. Because those are the same guys who said that Mosley has been ducking Mayweather for years and that he has fought the best fighters in every weight class. Come on now! Those two guys are selling the public that doesn't know about boxing. Those two guys got to the top the smart way......not the hard way!!!  So before you go talking down about Cotto and his pieces of meat, you might want to go refresh on all of the fighters Mayweather has fought to date. Cotto has the potential to be a legend. Mayweather already is considering himself great because he tko'd ARTURO GATTI in 6? or ran around the ring against a BALDOMIR? Are you serious? My man, to be the best.....you must beat the best! You dont walk out when there is still fighters to beat to prove that he is the best. He isn't afraid of Cotto nor Margarito, but he is afraid of a loss and his money and fame dissapearing.

Lifequest--Yeah, great argument, if you have zip for brains. 3 to 4 years ago Cotto was an up and comer, not close to being ready for prime time. Now both are in their prime and Pretty Boy will not even consider it. Don't tell me to get my facts straight hoss. I'm talking about right now, not 2002-2005. Both fighters are gifted, that is obvious. But nobody can say for sure who will beat whom until they square up. And they won't because PBF won't. IMO Cotto would come out ahead because of his power. He throws the ultimate body shots and that has proven to be the one thing to get to PBF, as it does to most boxers.
