The Purdue Boilermakers have had one of the most bittersweet, yet successful programs in college basketball history, mainly due to the fact they have yet to win an NCAA championship. They were chosen as national champs, tho, far back in the day when John Wooden was an All-American, before the NCAA's were the official national tournament. They came pretty close several times, making the Final Four 2 times and the Elite Eight 2 times also. In 1969, Rick Mount led them to the Final Four, who were beat by Wooden's own, UCLA. Their last trip to the Final Four came in 1980, who were led by the big man Joe Barry Carroll. Their two Elite Eights appearances were the closest they've gotten to a championship since. In 1994, led by Glenn Robinson and Cuonzo Martin, they lost to soon to be champions, Duke. Their last Elite Eight came in 2000. The next handfull of seasons look to be just as great, if not greater, compared to any season in it's program's history. Question is, what was Purdue's best single season?

I went with Glenn Robinson and the elite 8. First of all, i can only judge by what I was able to see and watch.

The reason the 93-94 season is my choice is because first of all, that was a great team. Plus, when you have the consensus player of the year on your team, that makes for a pretty fun season. I thought for sure they were going to hoist the trophy that year, what a bummer.

I picked the 2009-2010 season. With a predictably amazing backcourt with Jackson and Kramer along with Moore and Hummell, only thing missing is some presence down low. I'm sure Painter has the master recruiting plan for this following year's class. Now about the 1993-1994 season, I was 9 years old and kind of remember watching that Duke game with Cuonzo Martin and Glenn Robinson. anyone remember that game they won at Michigan that same season?

ha ha i watch the last 2 minutes of that michigan game every couple of weeks or so on youtube!  I would have to say the best season would have to be the john wooden years!!!! I think '43 or something like that when they won it all! but im pretty sure nobody on here saw that team!!!! So... I'm gonna pick next years team, and the year after, and the year after that one too!!! the next 3 seasons are gonna be GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

Not to be knit-picky but it was 1932 when Purdue won it all with Wooden getting his third All-American award and also receiving the National POY.  Granted, the times were different but that team only lost once and I think it was to the Illini.  The Big Dawg years were the greatest for me because those were the years that my Dad convinced me to be a Boiler.  BTFU!

I wasn't around for the 69 team, but the greatest team that I remember was that 87-88 squad which IMO was the best team in College Basketball that year but stumbled at t
