The Purdue Boilermakers have had one of the most bittersweet, yet successful programs in college basketball history, mainly due to the fact they have yet to win an NCAA championship. They were chosen as national champs, tho, far back in the day when John Wooden was an All-American, before the NCAA's were the official national tournament. They came pretty close several times, making the Final Four 2 times and the Elite Eight 2 times also. In 1969, Rick Mount led them to the Final Four, who were beat by Wooden's own, UCLA. Their last trip to the Final Four came in 1980, who were led by the big man Joe Barry Carroll. Their two Elite Eights appearances were the closest they've gotten to a championship since. In 1994, led by Glenn Robinson and Cuonzo Martin, they lost to soon to be champions, Duke. Their last Elite Eight came in 2000. The next handfull of seasons look to be just as great, if not greater, compared to any season in it's program's history. Question is, what was Purdue's best single season?
