Shockey needs his Mullet back... it's like Sampson... shaved it now look at him.

im no fan of either team and i say dump him. trade him for a 6 pc nuggets and a medium beverage of your choice.

miami needs a TE anyways cause their QB situation as usual since Marino took his no trophy @ss to HBO stinks out loud.

"He was avoiding the endzone, just to get a hit on Julian Peterson."

That single play was the play that made me believe that Shockey had some of what Mark Bavaro once gave us.  Sadly he hasn't shown that type of fire since.  I think he would be a great fit with the Fins actually, and I think he would benefit from working under a Parcells led regime.  Jason Taylor doesn't get it done for me, but if the Fins offered something substantial then I wouldn't mind losing Shockey, although as I said before we have him on the cheap this season.  And since Bill Parcells is no dummy there is no way he offers us any value for a TE who has been in decline over the last couple of seasons statistically and was badly injured last season.

The Giants would have to give up more than Shockey for Taylor, a former defensive MVP that still plays like he's in his prime even at his age.

Shocky for Taylor will never happen. Taylor is old and at the end of his career, Shocky is comming of an injury but is in his prime, the trade is a loss for the Giants.

Rhodes scholar.  3 all pro DE's. What are you Giant fans smoking? What makes you think Shockey is so good? He is always hurt, constantly cries like a baby, and has mediocre numbers when he is healthy. Taylor would be a huge upgrade for your team both on and off the field.

No, I would not pull the Shockey-for-Taylor trade for three reasons:

1.) Shockey is still young and he's about to hit his prime (the age-range where players reach their peak and their prime is between 26-29)...whereas Taylor is around 31 I think, and Shockey has a better chance of reaching his peak and staying healthy than Taylor is of maintaining his Pro-Bowl form

2.) Taylor wants $8 million to play. We already have Burress wanting a new contract, Umenyiora wanting to re-do his contract, and others due pay-raises...so forking out an additional 8 million when our key players who helped us win the Super Bowl want to re-work their contracts
