It became extremly obvious this series that Kobe Bryant was not the MVP of the league. After watching tonights crushing blow to the Lakers, it became obvious Kobe had no answer. One of the most overrated players of our generation, Kobe is not the "best" player in the NBA.
Let me put it like this. If Lebron and Kobe were on the same team, Kobe would be option # 2. When Kobe and his team had their backs against the wall, Kobe disappeared in the critical 2nd half of game 6 of the NBA finals, while Boston took a 4 point lead and turned it into a 23 point lead.
Total letdown. LeBron James pulled his town to victory against the Celtics when facing elimnation in game 6, and more importantly, in game 7, at Boston, Lebron put up 40+ and carrying his teammates to what would be one of the greatest game 7's in the NBA. Unfortunately Lebron came across Paul Pierce who was able to match him basket for basket. A career game for Pierce as he was able to hold of King Lebron.
I'm sorry, but Kobe's play tonight, reminded me that he is not the best player in the NBA. In fact, as far as "team" play goes, If I was starting a new NBA team, and I had every NBA player to choose from, Kobe is not in my top 5.
Peace!
