At least Freeman had the courage to actually admit he was wrong when he casually dismissed any chance the Celtics might have had to win their record 17th championship.  While you fawned over the second coming of Jordan, Boston was putting all the pieces together to make all the "experts" in the industry look justifiably foolish for not giving them a chance.  Way to go Celts!

Great post Spike!  "Revolution" Greggy should have either refrained from writing any article or admittted what a buffon he was for that dribble.  Revolution was repeat of the Memorial Day Massacre of 1985.  Then Doyel shows more lack of knowledge when he states Kevin Garnett will be viewed as the greatest power forward of all time???  KG is good, and I could buy into him being crowned superior to Karl Malone, but I do think there is one Tim Duncan in San Antonio who might be able to posture otherwise.

Nevertheless, kudos to the Celtics!  Couldn't see such a fitting ending happen to a nicer lot than the Lakers with Phil the Egomaniac Jackson failing to overtake the late, great Red Auerbach in coaching championships on Red's court; Kobe Bryant who the media so wants to crown the second coming of Michael Jordan; Tinsil Town's Hollywood wine and cheese courtside sitters; band wagon hip hop generation's team; etc, etc, etc.  More importantly than the negativity surrounding the Lakers, at least Doyel did get right a great culmination for Paul Pierce, KG and Ray Allen after many years of toil.

Actually I admitted my mistake after Game 3 ... yes, after the Lakers won. I wrote the next day that unless Kobe became Superman, this series was over, that Boston was too good, that I had been wrong, etc. Here's that link. Oh, and some napkin for YOUR face, ghost, for casually dismissing me as not having 'fessed up already.

haven't we learned by now the Doyel has no credibility, great you admitted you were wrong, but you were wrong, you were dead wrong and not even close, especially after yesterdays article, http://www.sportsline.com/nba/story

, yeah, i dont think Boston fans were worried, I am one and I was not worried one bit and none of my brethren were nervous one bit, maybe you thought we were worried, just like you thought the Fakers were going to win.  Kobe??? they guys a fraud, he couldnt lead a group of 300 pounders to a buffet, Phil Jackson? put the bong away for a minute Phil and snap out of the daze you were in.  Celtics were the best team all year and are now certified as champs, Boston is title town just deal with it all you jealous haters

Doyel, you and all of your buddies in the media are unbelievable. You go the way the wind blows. The Celtics can't win on the road at Atlanta or Cleveland, therefore they don't have what it takes to win an NBA title. There's just NO WAY they can win if they can't beat Atlanta on the road.

They'll never beat the Pistons. They don't have the fortitude it takes to beat a great team like Detroit.

Post Game 2 – The Celtics allowed the Lakers to come back from a 24-point deficit and nearly lost this game. Uh oh, even though the Celtics are up 2-0, they're in trouble. The Lakers will still win in six.

Post Game 3 — Well, the Lakers have won a game. It's all over for the Celtics. L.A. is up by 24 in Game 4. It's all over for Boston.

Post Game 5 — This is more like it. The Lakers have shown they can win, and will take Boston to seven games, where anything can happen.

Post Game 6 — The Celtics are the best team in basketball, and they proved it in this series. They're a better team than the Lakers, and we knew it all along.

Fickle, fickle, fickle. Columnists have to sell newspapers or get people to read the Internet, that's a given. But, don't keep changing your mind about everything. It's annoying, and very tiresome.

The Celtic legacy lives on. It's a happy day for this Southern Illinoisan who has been a Celtic fan for more than 35 years.

I would like for Doyel to address how incredibly wrong he was about Rajon Rondo after he was drafted by the Celtics.  Doyel would have had us believe Rondo was an equipment manager trying to break into the League.
