The Rangers are rumored to be considering trading for Sabathia, who would you give up for him?

I would offer Blalock, Nelson Cruz, Joaquin Arias, and Max Ramirez.

Blalock hasn't played most of the year anyway, plus we have Chris Davis in OKC to play first base for us.  Cruz has had his chances with us and we now have several outfielders in front of him.  He his having a great season at AAA so maybe the Indians would bite.  Arias has Kinsler in front of him, so he isn't going to help the team anyway.  And last but not least, Ramirez was with the Indians a few years ago, so I know they like him.  Plus he is having a great year in AA, so that helps his trade value as well.

By trading these players, we don't lose anybody from our roster that we've been playing with most of the season.  And if Sabathia leaves us at the end of the season, we didn't give up anybody that we couldn't replace.

I like that trade offer assuming we can get him to sign a contract extension. I hate the thought of sending those guys for a rent a player when we could give them up for a guy under contract longer or willing to sign an extension.  Also, since he is a free agent at the end of the year, we could try and sign him without giving anyone up but i like the players you mentioned, they are defintely replaceable in the pecking order.

NOOOOOO, we can not give two of our best prospects for someone who would NEVER resign with us.

Yeah i agree with Watson. You dont trade two high prospects for someone that will def leave at the end of the season. I would want to see a sign and trade and make him sign an extension before he even got here. Arias, from what i have heard might be playing third or something.. Kinsler moving to short or third or Young over to third since he has the arm to do so. Blaylock and Cruz sound good but no high prospects.

Sabathia would absolutely melt in the Texas heat.  But I would give him a chance by giving up Blalock, Arias, and Cruz.

Max Ramirez is a beast with the bat.  He is not that good of a defensive catcher (like Salty) but could be a good DH.

Arias is exceptional with the glove but is just so so with the bat and is injury prone.  He will never be more than a utility infielder.

I like Hank and I hope he can come back and spank the ball.  But I would give him up for a #1 or 2 starter.

Arias is a top minor league prospect, we don't trade him for 'a shot' at a number 1 or 2 pitcher.  That is the mentality which has plagued the Rangers over and over.  If the Rangers move one of their young studs it has to be for a SURE THING.  Given the tendencies of the Ballpark in Arlington, sinker ball pitchers should be the overwhelming focus of the scouting department

I am torn in this one. I really like C.C. Sabathia. OK here is what I would offer:

Rangers get: Sabathia.

Indians get: Hank Blalock, Max Ramirez, and Frank Catalanotto.

What do you guys think?
