The Brewers should be climbing these rankings, not dropping.  This is a team finally living up to expectations without Gallardo, Riske, and Gagne.  All 3 of whom were supposed to play an integral role in their staff.  they've won 18 out of 27 games, are 3 out of the wildcard and 6.5 behind the Cubs (who are no. 1 in the popularity rankings), yet they dropped 2 spots in the power rankings?  In this 27 game span, their team ERA is 2.96, and they've hit 35 homers in the last 17 games.  This is a team on the rise, playing the way it was supposed to all year, but until there's some feature story on Ryan Braun or something, E-Mack will ignore them completely.  Thanks for the stirring commentary on The Yankees, I'm sure no one had any idea how they've been doing or what's been going on with them.  Give me a story about the Orioles or something.  At least that would be something all of us don't already know about.

As an O's fan I still keep an eye on our former AL brothers. They have a very talented team that is just starting to get mentioned. Give it a few more weeks and the talk will be of who will be contending with them come September.

Great Post! The Brewers only have the BEST RECORD in baseball over the last 25 games. Makes sense to drop them two spots.

And oh, does every team move UP in the rankings when their lose their #1 ace pitcher?

Hmmm....no media bias at all going on here.

GO BREWERS!

yea i don't see that much of them being a philly fan but the Brewers are a solid team..sheets is nasty and in my opinion ryan braun is one of the best players in the game right now along wit utley,a-rod,pujols,soriano and Hanley Ramirez.

Clearly the Brewers have played the way they had to recently to, in effect, remain as contenders in the NL Central.  Fact is these bozo writers won't give them the time of day until they catch/pass the Cardinals.  Then they will pose highly intellectual questions like "can the Brewers catch the Cubs?".  Whether they do or not, it could be quite a three game series to end the season on (Brewers vs Cubs).  I wouldn't discount the Cards from being in it til the end either, they have been consistent so far.
