Don't get me wrong here, the US are the best basketball team in the world, but they're going to need all the help they can get even though they have some of the top players in the world. Kobe will be as good as usaul and we'll have other guys like LeBron and Anthony, but if the US are gonna bring this home they need some production from Wade to make sure they can win it.

In my opinion unless he is 100% healthy he shouldnt be going to the olympics because over the past 2 years great promise has been destroyed by his injuries. If the olympics wear him down for next season the Heat will be experiencing another dissapointing season.

He's going to be playing 15-20 minutes a night hes not playing 35 minutes a night. If you didn't see the 2006 championships wade came off the bench and that was when Kobe nor Kidd was on the team.

Wade is a great player when he is healthy and has a great PF or C to get him the pick and roll, but he is not the right choice here.
Team USA always misses it. At least this year, they have Teshaun Prince - a defensive minded player who also has some O. He will not crave the ball or the spotlight - just plays winning basketball.
This is why a player like Brandon Roy is so valuable. He always makes the players around him so much better. Look - he led Portland to 41 wins, with the youngest team in their history.
I know he isn't flashy, just productive - especially in the intangibles. The reason he lasted until 6th on draft day, is that he also passes the ball, sets screens and rebounds.
Prince, Roy and guys like David West, Shane Battier and Rajon Rondo are the elements needed to solidify quickly the "kings" of the court.
Think about it - do we want gold - or most dunks?
