Oh, I forgot what I actually wanted to say on this matter.
Tom Brady IS somewhat overrated, depending on the opinion you're looking at. I don't think he's overrated in regards to my opinion of him (that being he's clearly one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and an argument can be made to include him among the elite quarterbacks in history). Some people think he is the end-all, be-all of quarterbacks and no other quarterback in history could even come close to his skill. That, of course, is wrong...and therefore, in regards to THOSE opinions, he is overrated.
That's not to say, once again, Tom Brady is bad. I'm a huge Patriots fan and I think Brady is probably a top 15 quarterback right now. You could make the case for top 10, and if you REALLY wanted to push it, I could see him being the top 5. Right now, I don't agree, but he's only been a starter for SEVEN seasons. He's only THIRTY. He's just ENTERING his prime.
For the record, I think pretty much every great quarterback is over-rated by someone. No quarterback in history is ridiculously superior to every other quarterback. I don't care if it's Joe Montana, John Elway, Brett Favre, Dan Marino, Johnny Unitas, Sammy Baugh, Y.A. Tittle, or Otto Graham - no quarterback is leaps and bounds above the rest.
There is no Jerry Rice of quarterbacks. Now, if Brady plays for another 10 years, maybe then there will be.
