Scout.com ranked us at #43 and did a preseason review on what we already know about our football team including our main concerned with OLines. However for Scout.com to grade a C for our offense, they basically said that we're not going to be competitive enough. We know we have long way to go this season, but I think we can have winning record before Pac-10 schedule. We have enough fire power and I trust Norm Chow will put our offense into situation they can succeed with the talent we have. Just like in basketball, we can always depend on our defense to put us into winnable ball game.

As I said in an earlier post The Vegas odd's makers have the Bruins at 51/2 games for the over/under.   Everyone who follows college football knows that we have problems at O line and QB.  Yes our Defense will have to carry the load most of the season but that's asking a lot vs. good  teams like Tennessee, BYU, Fresno st., sc, ASU and Oregon.

Can this years team make it to 6 wins?  I think so but most of the experts don't.  Our coaching staff is much improved but we are still a year away from seeing pre season top 25 rankings.  Pre season rankings are are meaningles, being ranked 28th or 43rd only means that this team has a lot to prove to those who cover the game.  The team has to change opinion by winning games.

Eh... Last year we were "picked" to finish 2nd in the Pac10 and to play in a BCS bowl. We ended up 6-6 and lost a crappy bowl game.

In other words: Preseason rankings are USELESS. For all we know we could end up 11-1 and head to the Rose Bowl. Let's wait and see. One game at a time.

You never know what a team can do. The critics have written off the Bruins for this year. That's ok, our defense will be ready to go. Our offense might surprise a few too.

Go Bruins!

Call me a skeptic but, in this case, I don't think that the "experts" will be that far off.  I believe that it will be two or three years before the "Dorrell System" will be worked off and the new coaches and system will have an impact.  Maybe we'll end up with 6 or even 7 wins and in the top 30 or so but I would be very surprised if it's much better than that.

I believe that it will be two or three years before the "Dorrell System" will be worked off and the new coaches and system will have an impact. Our new coaching system should start to make impact on recruiting soon. Safety, Byron Moore, decommitted from us and took SC's offer. All along he was waiting for PC to make an offer and Moore was using us as his leverage. In any case, we are loaded at Safety positions so maybe a new OLines will commit during signing period in place of Moore. However, it just stinged me about his decommitment to SC just like last year with Uona Kaveinga.
