I'm not putting this on the main board because I don't want to be accused of trying to "justify" Patriots' players actions but I found this article interesting.  You know, it's a slow news day:

Apparently, Bradshaw went on Dan Patrick’s radio show Thursday and admitted to using steroids to help “heal quicker” in the 1970s.

“My use of steroids from a doctor was to speed up injuries…and thought nothing of it. It was to speed up the healing process, that was it. It wasn’t to get bigger and faster.”

Should we care? It’s not like he was integral to their Super Bowl victories - the defense was dominant. (Though we should add Bradshaw was impressive in the 1980 SB.) Still, if in 2036, Tom Brady shows up and says he used roids with the Patriots … would there be an outcry?

Here's the link too.  Some interesting comments from readers including another article from 2005 about the Steelers' alleged steroids use:

The Steelers should be stripped of all four Super Bowl titles and Terry bradshaw should be prosecuted and mad to testify before congress and remarry all his ex-wives.

Hey DB:

I wonder if that was not corticosteroids--like prednisone that Bradshaw used as opposed to anabolic steroids??  It would make sense.  Not trying to defend Terry or the Steelers, but doctors (legit ones, that is) don't use anabolic steroids--which are the ones that make you stronger, meaner, hit home runs, etc..  Corticosteroids are legitimate medicines that are used to counter inflammation, for example, and could help healing.

Just a thought, don't know the facts.

Funny stuff, Frank, about re-marrying all his ex-wives.  I would think he'd rather have the titles stripped than that.

B46 - you're the voice of reason.  Suffice it to say, the same questions wouldn't be posed about Tom Brady, if it was him admitting to this.

Dawnie...only the meatheads would jump on the Brady sucks bandwagon for taking legit, doctor-prescribed steroids.  And who cares what meatheads think?  Want to know when someone doesn't really care about football and lacks knowledge?  They're the ones who are still beating the cheater horse to death (people doing it for sarcasm are excepted).

Technically, though, there was no 'roid policy back then (was t
