Again, we need a 2G that can put up 20-30 on any given night and we'll be set.

To answer that, we need Brandon Rush or Douglas Rogers.

I like the Douglas-Roberts kid, but from what I saw he's the only player the Hornets have targeted and haven't been able to get to New orleans for a tryout.  If that continues, he may be out of the question.

As far as FAs out there, I agree that ew need to look at getting a SG that can step in, and a SF that can back-up David West.  I like the center position with Tyson Chandler, Hilton Armstrong, and Chris Anderson (need to resign him to a 2-3 year deal).  Also think we are set at PG with Chris Paul and Jannero Pargo (also need to resign).  I think Mo Peterson should be backing up someone at the SG, with Julian Wright getting some major minutes at that position and backing up Peja at the SF position.

If we do not draft a SG I think we should look for a veteran player to come in for our starter for 1-2 years to give Julian more time to develop his game.  I see him as our future starting SG, just not sure if he's ready yet.

As far as trading Peja, I would not be opposed to it if we could get another pure shooter.  Obviously, there aren;t any as good as he is, plus he's a lock at the FT line; but I wouldn't mind getting somehting in return for him as he may look to retire in another 2-3 years.  Maybe we could hold onto him for 2 years to get him a ring for each hand before he calls it.

I feel great about the starters..i think we have one of the top 5 starting lineups in the leauge

Most important thing in the offseason for me is the development of our young guys (Armstrong and Wright) and improving the team through free agency getting either another big or a shooting guard

If available, these are the ppl I wouldn't mind the Hornets taking: Chris Douglas-Roberts or Courtney Lee..if they aren't available: DJ White or Richard Hendrix

We have to re-sign Pargo & Bonzi..Ely can go..maybe keep Bird around I'm iffy about Bird and Bowen..

#1 target via free agency..probably Ben Gordon

bad trade..Rip is solid but Peja's the second best shooter in the NBA

regardless of how good Sheed is, he'll be 34 by the beginning of next season and David will just be turning 28 and is really turning into something special

I saw on a mock draft on espn.com a couple weeks ago that had Douglas-Roberts falling to us and us taking him.  Lot can happen between now and the draft, but I see that as the best possible outcome for our draft (unless we trade up).

i've seen lots of mocks that had us taking Douglas-Roberts. I watched ESPN yesterday and they say that his stock dropped a good bit that will make him available late in the first round. (maybe something like what happened to Derrick Byars last year might happen to him) They say that some of the weaker prospects were outplaying him. IMO, the weaker prospects are playing to be drafted, so they came more prepared. I'm not worried about CDR at all. Jalen Rose said to watch out for Chris Douglas-Roberts. He thinks he'll put up some nice numbers as a rookie, and i agree with him.

Take a look at this.. from fanhouse.

Now that the Birdman (Ka-kaw) is back, the Hornets are really only one or two pieces away from contending for a championship that they could have won last year anyway. Which makes this pick tough -- New Orleans certainly has needs, but whether or not those can be immediately answered at 27 will determine whether they actually end up pulling the trigger on any first rounders.

Picks:
