Do you think Tom Brady deserved the #1 spot?

If not - who would you put there...

As bad as I hate to admit it -

Tom Brady is the obvious #1 to start the season - especially since Moss is back.

My boy stays at #2 for now but Prisco is right - should he have Harrison back - watch out - they will be a force.

Honestly. If this list was based on "what if's", then I can understand some of the selections.  But it's not.  Cause "what if's" would've put Andre Johnson high on that list.

Tom Brady, number 1?  Sure.  Why not.  Funny thing breckja.  If you would've "dogged" the selection, you would have 500 comments by now.  But since a "Colts" fan gave the complimentary comment, you're not going to get jack for responses.  I for one, appreciate the poll.  I voted "no" for Brady.  But you can't deny him.

The one thing I didn't care for was the selections after 10.  Adrian Peterson should've been higher.  Drew Brees, higher.  Marques Colston didn't even make the list.  And it's a crying shame that Ryan Grant didn't make the list.  He saved Green Bay's season.  They just couldn't close the deal against the world champion Giants.  Speaking of which.  Eli has more upside in 2008.  But this isn't based on hypathetical numbers.........right?  LOL.

haters.

Even though I think Brady was the best player this past year, he doesn't get the number one spot alone.  Without Moss, does Brady come close to his numbers?  I don't think so.

This is why I, personally, don't like ranking individual players in football.  So much depends on other factors like the individual talents of your teammates, the chemistry and the scheme.  All you have to do is look at the Giants defensive line.  If you go by the numbers, you would think Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora are two of the best defensive ends in football (and me being a Giants fan I definitely believe that), but because of the combination of their talent, chemistry and scheme they made the defensive line a top 3 NFL unit.

Football's a classic example of a whole being greater than the sum of its parts.

I personally still don't see the Tom Brady hype, you can break all sorts of records with the right help and not be as good as the stats say, Shaun Alexander is proof 1 of that.

For game changers, as much as I dislike him, I still would say Peyton Manning.

Tom Brady is a sensational player. No one can ever deny that. If they do they don't know football. However i would still have to disagree with placing him #1. His numbers for sure deserve it. He has a great season. But if you ask me who i would rather have, who i think is a better quarterback, no matter who the recievers are. Who i would want to have the ball with the last two minutes, i would say Manning. He just has it. So does brady but i trust Peyton more. I personally think he is better, although I'm sure I'm about to get a million posts disagreeing with me...
