I agree that the Cavs need someone like a Redd to bring immediate star talent, but that doesn't always work.  Isn't that what Wally Sczerbiak was suppose to be, at least on the scoring front.  Frankly, I'm not sure it wasn't.  The trade, move, and birth of twins mid-season may have benn unsettling to him, and I suspect he just had a bad second half.

It is also true that the Cavs had no draft picks in 2005 and 2007, and only one in 2008.  They can't survive long term without developing talent for the long haul.  I want there to be life after LeBron, should it come to that.  Hickson should provide some immediate bench help, and assuming he gets better and better, is what you have to do to sustain a team in the long haul.

Hickson was traded a few days ago for two players from the NCAA Champion Kansas Jayhawks (forgot the names though, i'll check that later). Those of you who felt a trade coming were on the money!!!!

Also, the latest PD article mentions the Cavs are interested in L.A. Clippers guard Corey Maggete who is still averaging 22 points a game.

I totally agree with you man, it looks like we wont be winning a championship for quite a while now since LeBron wants to go play for Jay-Z. And now especially after seeing what the Celtics had this last season, he wants/ needs a team around him that can help him dominate and win a championship.

And Kosta Koufus actually wouldnt have been to bad of a pick, better than JJ Hickson.

i hope your right about the possible trade still being there for Redd, but remember that we tried to get Redd a few years ago and ended up with Larry Hughes. And we all know how that turned out. I think Danny Ferry will possibly come up with some kind of trade but everyone that could have came here either didnt want to or has signed with another team already.

if we cant get Redd i think we should possibly go for Josh Smith from Atlanta he is an exciting player and had a great playoff series against Boston.

As for Hickson if he stayed in college and entered the draft next year he might be a lottery pick, so i think Ferry made a good pick at 19 getting someone young and taking that chance. Besides the guy is 6'9" 245 and only 19, so what are you going to say if he turns out to be a stud. One thing youve got to remember is that Danny Ferry put together the Spurs and look what they have done with those players. Besides hes the only GM clevelnd has had that seems to do anything to try and get players to our team. Everyone was happy when the trade was made this past year and we got some good talent. Now he just needs to get rid of some of it to get a little bit better.

First game, JJ scores 26 points and 9 rebounds, 7 offensive in his first summer league game.  11-15 from the field. I guess it was a bad pickup i'm assuming.
