How do you rate the Grizzlies draft?

The Grizzlies took Kevin Love, a power forward/center out of UCLA with the 5th overall pick. The Grizzlies needed a big man, and they got a good one in Love.

They also received another 1st round pick (28th overall) in the Pau Gasol trade from the Lakers. They took Donte Greene, a guard from Syracuse.

The Grizzlies did not have a second round pick because they traded it in a 2006 draft day trade with the Trail Blazers. The Grizzlies traded a future second round pick to the Blazers for Alexander Johnson (remember him?).

Overall, I think the Grizzlies did a pretty good job. I was really upset when they passed on DeAndre Jordan at 28 to pick Greene. If they had the 2nd round pick still (it would have been the 33rd overall pick), they might have taken Jordan. Jordan is a center from Texas A&M, whose stock dropped considerably when teams realized that he was not ready for the NBA Draft. He had a lot of potential, but teams realized that he might not be able to contribute right away.

Too bad I can't change my vote.

The Grizzlies just traded for O.J. Mayo...

Just when I thought the Grizzlies had shored up one of the weakest front court's in the NBA........BOOM!!  Love, Miller, Cardinal & Collins get shipped to Minnesota for OJ Mayo, two aged back court players and a bust of a foreigner.  THEN.....they trade the rights of Donte Green for Darrell Arthur?  I'll just call this the cheater draft.  We just added a player who accepted cash and gifts from an agent while playing for USC and a player who had failing grades changed in high school to allow his entrance into Kansas.  My grade:  C-

I would give it an A- by trading Mike Miller.

I would give them A- to an A depending on the offseason, they got the 3rd best player in the draft but didnt adress the center position so if one of the pgs gets moved for a center or gasol comes to the team it will be a very good draft

but they good great value for arthur
