I didnt know 6"10 was considered an undersized power forward.

I didn't either.  But there's no way Kevin Love is 6'10".  I was a joke here in LA.  He even did an interview mid-season and he actually corrected the reporter who said he was 6'10".  Said his high school put that out and everyone kept it up.

That said, the dude can play.  He's strong as an ox and will get 4-6 points from the line every night.  He's fearless inside and had the best inside moves I've seen from a kid his age in, well, forever.  The only place his height might hurt him is on defense - he's got the skills to overcome a couple of inches on offense.

If Jefferson weren't there I'd say Love would be a double-double guy.  But with them sharing rebounds I think that'll be ambitious.  But you're gonna like seeing him outlet to Lowery and Miller on the break.

Oh, and by the way, as a Husky fan, I am required to hate UCLA.  That's how much this guy impressed me in the 20-25 games I saw him play.

I don't think the deal was that bad.
Mike Miller is one hell of a player, and can help Rashad McCants develop by steering him the right way.
They're still gonna be bad, but its a good step.
Grizz got a young core, too. But their PG situation is shaky.

Um, anyone who thinks this was a good trade for the wolves is insane.  Half of the game of basketball is spent playing something called defense.  By trading a great perimeter defender in Mayo for a non-athlete 4 that moves Jefferson to his non-natural 5, the wolves have doomed themselves defensively.

What is the least athletic and worst defensive lineup ever assembled?  I'll show you:
PG - Telfair
SG - Foye
SF - Miller
PF - Love
C - Jefferson

Wow.  This team will give up 120 points every single night.  Love fits fine on a team that needs a 4, and already has a nice defensive 5.  The Timberwolves do NOT have this.  One could even argue that Brewer (another horrible pick) should start at the 2 or 3.  That's fine, you still have 4 defensive liabilities on the floor at once.

Lets not forget that the lack of athleticism will kill any running game.  Every single point this team scores next year will have to come from the half court set.  This team cannot run.  Do you know what you get when add a team that can't run, can't defend, and only scores in the half court set?  You get a losing squad that isn't even fun to watch.  McHale has completely murdered any optimism for the upcoming season.  At least we can all watch another top 5 pick be wasted next year.

When Garnett left, so did my interest in the Timberwolves.  It took him 1 season to go win a title elsewhere once they put a solid supporting cast around him.  Congrats to KG!

As far as this trade goes, I really don't know as nada one player being talked about has even stepped on the NBA court (Mayo and Love that is).  I think both have great potential but Mayo is definitely more athletic.  However, I just don't care anymore.  McHale lost me at 'Goodbye KG' and pretty much well before that.

While I'm optimistic about the trade, MN-Hawkeye brtings up a good point that I've tried to bury in the back of my mind. The lack of a running team doesn't concern me much at all but the possible defensive defincies is a major concern. From what I understand, Mayo does bring defense to the table.
