Wow, this is strange. I was actually looking for a no-hitter. And it became more strange when the Dodgers actually won.

I think it is ridiculous that this does not count as a No-Hitter.  Since the Dodgers didn't have to hit in the 9th it can not be considered a No-Hitter?  It's an official game isn't it.  It's one of those stupid rules in professional sports.

Yes strange, unfair to Jared, but love the Dodgers won.

I suspect the rule is in place more to prevent a five-inning rain-shortened game from being called a no-hitter.  That having been said, look at it this way.  It's the first time in 44 years that an NL team has had no hits and won (the Reds in 1964 were the last).

That doesn't make sense, Morris.  There is a distinct difference between a game getting called for rain in the fifth inning and a team not batting in the bottom of the 9th because they are winning.

One is a shortened game due to inclement weather.  One is a complete game.

That having been said, this game was nuts.  Sucks to be Weaver, pitching a no-no (along with some bullpen help) but giving himself the loss by screwing up a simple play in the field.

I didn't watch the game, but man does this sound nuts. A no-no by Weaver, yet he loses for making a knucklehead move in the field. Sucks to be you tonight Mr. Weaver!

It definitely was not a simple play by Weaver. That ball had so much spin on it that it would have kicked out of anyone's glove as soon as they touched it.

Melido Perez once for the Chi Sox got credit for pitching a no hitter in a rain shortened 6 inning game.
