Anybody with me on this?

It was about this time of year in 06 when we went on a winning splurge and won something like crazy from there on out.

Now people are saying the this years streak was/is largely against the week NL West. which is true but look back to 06.

From June 11th through July 3rd the Twins were19-1 that streak consisted of; all of interleague play minus a series in Millwakee (in which we took 2 of 3), a sweep of Boston, and a game at KC.

That streak fueled the Twins to make a run and eventually win the Central. Could it happen again? Or is this years team to young and inexperienced to make that kind of run?

I'm just saying there are some similarities. What are your guys thoughts?

After Millwakee, we have the Tigers, Indians, and the Red Sox. We can get cocky after those games have played out. Then we will know if the Twins are for real, but in the meantime keep up the winning Twins.

I think it is going to happen again this year because Casilla and Gomez are still some of our top players even though gomez is a rookie and Casilla doesn't have that much experience. Were going to need our starting rotation to come through. Blackburn can't throw like he did against MIL on Friday but if our pitching stays strong and nobody goes down like Mauer or Mourneau then we will win the pennat and maybe give the world series a shot. It's similar to 2006 but i think we are a little better then that team even though we have lot's of young talent.

I have to say there's no way the Twins are as good as in 2006. Not saying they aren't good this year, just that the 2006 team was very good and probably would've won the world series if Radke and Liriano didn't get hurt. The big difference from that team to this team is having two aces on the staff that would basically give the twins a chance to win no matter what, if the offense scored a few runs. I'd say Baker has been a good #2 recently and Slowey a good #3, but the difference is they have the occasional terrible game that the Twins have no chance of winning. Hopefully they just get on a roll like the Rockies did last year with subpar starting pitching. It would also help if the twins bring up Liriano after the all-star break and he somehow becomes an ace once again.

Well maybe Slowey is the ace now. He's pitched 4 great games in a row, although they were against NL teams.

So NL teams are like AAA teams?  Last time I checked they played in the major leagues as well.  We may not have played great teams, exception Brewers, but we faced some very good pitchers and handled them well.  Even handled the Brewers ace.  I agree we will know more about this team in two weeks.  We have a tough strectch coming up but, confidence is at an all time high this year.  The hitting is much better and are hitting the ball harder and further.  I don't think this team HAS to have Liriano to make it to the playoffs.  They would need him to win in the playoffs.  Either way I think this will be a great summer and will give our youngsters a chance to prove themselves and get much needed experience.  Baker, Blackburn and Slowey will be our future.  Liriano hopefully as well.  Perkins looks like he could be a good pitcher and possibly anchor the rotation.  Will be interesting what happens when Denard Span comes up for Cuddyer this next two weeks at least.  If he tears the cover off the ball, we have a major issue.  But a good issue.  With the way he is playing in Rochester, he very well could put us in a predicament.  Would the Twins trade someone or just keep us stocked up.  How does Denard Span feel about that?  He would be starting for many teams this year, I'm sure someone would be interested.  He isn't going to stay in our AAA system forever, so we kind of have to make a decision.

Let's face it the NL is an inferior league. Just look at the interleague records over the last few years. Slowey has been very impressive, but it would be even more impressive if he pitched this well agaist the Tigers,
