This was written by Scott Miller here on CBS Sportsline.com from a question that was asked to Dusty about if there was anything wrong with Bronson Arroyo's arm.
" "You're glad there's nothing wrong with him," Reds manager Dusty Baker told reporters. "But we're trying to figure out what's wrong."
Whatever you say, Yogi."
seems like everybody needs to get their jabs into Dusty.
GO Reds! and Go Rally Cow (all praise the Venerable Rally Cow!)
the difference is that what yogi berra said made sense in funny and unintended ways, whereas what dusty baker says is moronic, nonsensical, and completely unfunny because he believes all the things he says that are the opposite of logical or true. you can make sense of yogi (and often even find insights), but you cannot make sense of what spews from dusty's mouth.
Dusty Baker does not know anything about baseball this is evident because he sucked in Chicago now he sucks in Cincinnati he needs to be fired and we need to get a new better manager. We should have kept Jerry Narron at least he knew something about baseball.
Casey Stengel was worse than Yogi....both forgot more baseball than Dusty Baker knows.... a quote from Stengel at the 1962 NY Mets Spring training-
"Can't anyone here play this game ?"
The expansion Mets lost a record number of games that year....proves Casey knew he had no talent BEFORE they played a real game...Dusty Baker has plenty of talent, he just can't figure out how to use it....
another Dusty nugget of wisdom:
"On Base Percentage is overrated. Walks just clog up the bases".......
I guess that's why Dusty didn't see anything wrong with hitting .200 bavg / .230 OBP Corey Patterson in the leadoff spot for 1/3 of the season, or .230 hitting Ken Griffey Jr. in the #3 hole all year, huh ? They sure haven't "clogged up the bases" much, have they ?
