Last night the Wizards drafted Bill Walker. EG then decided to trade him to the Celtics for Cash Considerations. I've been following the NBA for a while now but im still confused about what that means. Do we get like money from boston and does it go towards the Cap or what is the deal. Can somebody please clear this up?

I thought they stoped doing stuff like that back in the 1950's. Well at least it was not for some Red Sox tickets and a bottle of wine.

Lol yes thank god

But I think the real reason we got rid of our 2nd round pick is that Abe still doesn't want to go over the luxary tax amount. I think he told Ernie that he needs to save up cap space so we can resign gil and antawn. Ernie shouldve just traded our 1st and 2nd and move up a few spots to get a better player if he was planning on just drafting 1 player. To me JaVale just seems like a bigger songaila with much more potential. But he should help more on defense bein such a big guy.

Maybe...just maybe he'll develop and remind some of Dwight Howard!! That's the ticket, he'll grow, develop mad skills and become another Dwight Howard!

Why then, do I keep having nightmares and cold sweats, seeing another version of Jared Jeffries.....

The cash received does not count toward reducing our cap total for the year.  The reason they did this is they knew he would not make the team as they have no room on the roster for him.  Seeing as they already have 5 players under the age of 24 and a full roster of veterans.  So rather than draft him, send him to summer league and then cut him with nothing gained why not make a little money.
