Glad to see the Sabres aren't wasting time in negotiating with Miller.  Hopefully they can reach a deal on good terms and lock him up for a while.  They clearly don't want another Briere/Drury situation on their hands...  How do you think the talks will go, I am hopeful that Miller wants to be in Buffalo and decides to stay here

Miller fan  - but feel he thinks that ship has sailed.   I'll be suprised to sign him.

I feel distressed.......would love to have Miller but........thought Enstrom was next......HAS ANYONE MENTIONED DEFENSE?????

I've never been a huge Ryan Miller fan. He is a very good goaltender, but I wouldn't consider him in that All-World class. He has always been too inconsistent and is probably best suited for s 55-60 games workload. 7 mil a year I think is a little much for him, but if the Sabres don't give it to him, someone else surely will. I thought they would try to get him to sign a 3 year deal so they could develop Jhonas Enroth, who is due to play in the AHL next season.

I have always thought that Miller had ADD... The meds he took before the game kick in one minute into the period, and end with a minute left in the period. He lets in very weak goals in both time frames, but does a fantastic job if the Ritalin stays in the system.

$7 mill a year is a tough pill to swallow though. I think with a good set of defensemen pick ups and a better back up, he can do great things. He is a bit frail looking when he has to go down the stretch. Just means a better back up is needed. Conklin is prolly available again...

And yes, I do believe they have learned their lesson on free agency, and contract signing. Brierre and Drury walking was a big hit, but getting $7million dollars crammed down your throat for Vanek made them really look stupid. They were in a lose/lose situation and they bit the bullet.
