I just read Pro Football Weekly's Yearly evaluation of the upcoming 2008 year, as well as other publications. They all are predicting the Jets to finish 3rd in the AFC East at either 6-10 or 7-9. I have only read one review at 8-8. This is good for the Jets, every time they are predicted to be in the toliet, they do good. Anytime they are predicted to be good, they are in the toliet. Plus the recent trend has been good one year, bad the next, good one year, bad the next. We just came off of a decent year, bad record. I think this is going to be a GREAT year. What's your thoughts??

I never listen to anything columnists say because they just say the popular opinion.  Take the past 2 years for example in 06 they said we would be last and in 07 they said we would continue to improve and be a wildcard team they are always wrong and the people who write them are VERY stupid i mean seriously how idiots like pete prisco stay employed is beyond me.

I know we will be much improved and finish 2nd because we patched all of our holes

Being die hard Jets fans we would want for this team to come together and play as if they have been playing as a team for ten years, the reality is that they are going to struggle especially in the first half of the year, It takes time to merge 22 men into a cohesive unit that can react as one person on either side of the ball. Now it is not like it hasn't happened before and we do have a few things that put us ahead of the curve in some areas. But if we struggle and come up 7-9 or 8-8, but I see these guys busting their behinds to play and win every game then I will have no complaints. I have faith that we are on the right track and have made some very good moves, but also some that come with question marks.

But be that as it may I do foresee us once again showing vast improvement in the second half of the season just like the past 2 years, but for a differant reason this time, Growing pains plain and simple. We do have one great factor working for us, all these writers and experts and other teams are overlooking us. they are looking at the schedule and marking off 2 wins when they come to the Jets games, which is of course where we can beat them just like 2 years ago. I hope I'm wrong, I really do, if we can somehow just come out of the gate firing on all cylinders we can take our first 3 games before anyone even realizes we've done it.

Ya se i dont buy into that "it takes time to gel" crap.  Im sorry but thats for pee-wee and high school teams and i coach both.

These guys are PROFESSIONALS that have been playing for years, it should not takes longer than OTA, minicamp, training camp and Pre-season games to "gel" together.

I MIGHT understand if they have to leanr a new system but for offensive lineman i dont buy it.  zone block or man block, trap or pull, high hat or low hat.

The past 2 years helping my varsity alma mater football team we have senoir lineman leave every year and we replace them and sure the unit isnt "gelled" at first but gosh once we are done with summer camp and positional drills/training they understand what they have to do and they do it and if they dont they have a nice spot on the bench waiting for them and i'll find someone who can replace them.  If the High School team can do it i would ASSUME that paid PROFESSIONALS could do it.

We'll be fine as long as noodle arm isn't behind center.

I can't understand why they feel this way because last year nearly all the games we lost were close in a much tougher schedule than we have this year. Looking at our schedule and considering the improvments we have made it would be a disaster if we finishedwith less than 10 wins. I personally think that, barring any major injuries, we should finish as high as 11 - 5.
