When Okoye starts to draw two blockers like Haynesworth does, lemme know. I assure you it´s much easier to get sacks when you´re playing alongside the most dominant DT in the game.
You should really stop to think before you post a reply, maybe you won't embarrass yourself as frequently. KVB has been a top 7-10 DE for 3 years. He had 12.5 sacks and was a pro-bowler in 2005 when Haynesworth was a lazy, fat waste of space. Before lauding him as the "most dominant DT in the game" you might want to wait until he does it more than one year, and not a contract year. Most teams would still take all the Williamses, Wilork, and Harris over Haynesworth. They have been great for four years. Haynesworth benefits from lining up next to KVB just as much as KVB does lining up next to him. KVB still made McNeil look like the West Coast Winston Justice.
Winston didn't start until the final six games of his rookie year; and he is a top five RT, but he still shouldn't have been able to dominate Peppers so easily in just his 2nd year.
Mario had a TE and OT blocking him
Which games? I rarely saw him double teamed. Certainly not against the Broncos when he had his 3.5 garbage sacks.

I saw , a 1st year starter, absolutely dominate him early in the season. No excuse for that.
It should be noted though, that in that same game, Mario Williams was "dominated" even more absolutely.
In addition, Kampman was similarly "dominated" in several games last year, and not by elite tackles. John Tait and Travelle Wharton, of Chicago and Carolina, to name two.
Jared Allen was "dominated" when he played the San Diego Chargers
Vanden Bosch was "dominated" in games against NO, Tampa, KC, Jax, and Indy.
Many great DEs have off games, and are played well by the olineman, and fans jump on the boards and tell of how they were "dominated". This is just silly. These kind of game happen to the best of DEs.

And I´m sure you watched a ton of Texans games last year, right? Get real. You´re basing your perception of Mario off of ESPN highlights which only show the sacks. Of course you wouldn´t have seen the double-teams. The entire point of max-protection is to prevent one player (namely Mario) from getting to the QB and forcing the other D-linemen to win one-on-one battles.
Watch last year´s TB or Oakland games if you want to see how Mario´s presence makes it easy for anyone else mildly competent on our D-line to pressure the QB. And watch the Texans-Saints game if you want to see true dominance by a DE. Mario single-handedly disrupted the Saints´ running game as he stuffed them at the line on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 several times, and kept Brees off-rhythm by being in his face the entire game.
He´s not perfect. He had off-games (mostly early on in the year). But he proved that he´s capable of dominating a game, and as a young player he´s only going to get more consistent. As I mentioned, this list doesn´t indicate who had the best 2007 season, but rather who is likely to have the best 2008 season. And for the record, I don´t think that plowing through a left tackle to take down the QB in a close game is a garbage sack. Nor is beating a RT on a bull rush and using sheer strength to bring the QB down one-handed. But if it is, then I´ll gladly take 14 "garbage sacks" per year on sheer physical prowess until he learns better technique. Of course, once he does, I´ll demand 20+.

I watched every Texans game. They were one of the main reasons I got the nfl ticket, so I could watch Eric Winston. My perception has nothing to do with highlights, but facts. Mario may turn into a top five player, but he's not even close today. Its hilarious that you mentioned his best games were against Tampa and Oakland. I had forgotten how impressive he was against Barry Sims and Donald Penn. He must be awesome if he beat two of the league's worst left tackles. Did he also play welll against Winston Justice?

How did Wes Welker make the list we did not know his name a year ago. He had a great season, but lets not get it twisted it was only one season. We will see how good he is this year when he is the number two wide out and one of the best corners on the team is on him rather than a safety or a linebacker when he played in the slot and the attention was on stopping Randy Moss and Dante Stallworth. Half of this list is ridiculous just because you have a good season does not make you a top 50 player in the league. Do it for a couple of season make the list because of your skill not hype and a writer have it in for certain players Pete!
