Just a reminder that Charles Barkley was short, fat, and his motivation was questioned when he came out of Auburn. Beasley may not end up as good as Charles, but his game resembles the Round Mound of Rebound's more than any other player I have seen in the last 25 years. Beasley is the steal of this draft.

Greg is usually a nerdy idiot for most of his posts, but having Mayo as the most talented player is smart pickings!  The only problem is that he is surrounded by blah in my beloved Memphis Grizzlies!  Can we please get a front office that wants to put a team together that makes sense!

How is Beasley considered a steal?  He was the 2nd pick in the draft.  He will demand a lot of money and try to negotiate a long term contract.  I think Darrell Arthur was a steal at 27.  He was forecast as a lottery pick until the kidney rumor started floating around.  He will bring great value to the Grizzlies.  I also think Chris Douglas Roberts at 40 may be a steal as well.  He was forecast to go late in the first round.  I was shocked to see him slip down so far.  I think he will be a surprise.

How is Mayo have any more upside than Beasley? Beasley was a double-double machine. He lead his Kansas State team (who?) to the NCAAs and past Mayo. What exactly did Mayo do? Let's see... USC was hyped in the pre-season rankings and never really lived up to expectations. KSU came out of nowhere.

Beasley is the pick in this draft.

I do agree with Doyel that McHale is an idiot and he should be fired for incompetence. Each GM should have about 4-5 years to put a playoff caliber team together. If they don't get there...  What have the T-wolves done in the last 5 years? Can't believe Minnesotans have been forced to watch him "work" for 13 years? Wow! The first few years were OK, but the last 10.. woah! Talk about incompetence!!!

No steal, bad wording. You are right. However, he is the all star of this draft. He should have been #1, from what I have seen.
