Ever heard that old phrase x hasn't happened "in a month of Sundays? Well, the Orioles haven't won on Sunday in THREE months of Sundays. (I suppose another interpretation of "month of Sundays" could be 30 weeks, but who cares?)
Anyway, I know we all know about this, and I don't think anyone is sure what to make of it. but, on the season:
O's winning % on Sunday: .077
O's winning percentage the other six days: .594
Say what now? I suppose it could be a day-night thing, as the O's are 3-8 in Day games. 3 of Sherrill's 5 blown saves (and all of his losses) have come on Sundays. 6 of the 12 1-run losses also occurred on a Sunday. Do the guys just think they can take a day off? Does Trembley have a habit of resting guys on Sunday? Is it just a coincidence? I'm trying to see some pattern in it all, apart from the obvious weird one, but I just don't see one emerging.

Whoops, a 9-16 day game mark. The sorter scrolled to "Dome" by mistake. Still, that could have something to do with it, I guess.

I don't know if it's an issue of effort, but we always seem to be lackluster when we play on Sundays. I wish I could come up with examples, but nothing comes to mind. We just don't seem to play as hard on Sundays. I can't put my finger on the reason why though. We may be tired, we may just take it easy on Sundays... who knows? But I have to say that I don't see the same hustle on Sunday that I see every other day of the week.

Its just one of them weird things that happens in sports. I do like the promotion that the O's are running this Sunday. If you go to the game, and the O's win, everybody in attendence will get a free ticket in the same area they sat in for an upcoming game............excluding prime games.

All I know, it's got to be some kind of freakout. I mean, really, we should've won this past Sunday. Go figure, eh? Whatever, that day is gone. And now? I get an e-mail from The Orioles [.com] promoting this upcoming Sunday. I'm sure everyone has heard about it by now, so [I'm] not going into it, but it is getting that bad/wicked/eerie/mysterious.
So, come out to the ballpark July 6th, if you're in town, and block the jinx...or else [O's fans know what I mean].
BTW, that's my youngest brother's Birthday! I hope he attends. He'll be only 47. Happy Birthday, Chris!

When I watched the game the other day and heard them mention about losing on Sundays for three months, I wondered if it has something to do with that Methodist Church that's on Conway street a couple blocks from Camden Yards.
Is anyone complimenting them on the clever Orioles and Ravens signs posted out front?
Last year one said something like:
"We pray for our Orioles, and maybe the Yankees too but, O Lord, how can we pray for the Red Sox?"

Well if we are lucky maybe the Ravens will do just the opposite of the Orioles on Sundays.

Maybe we can trade Jay Gibbons to the California Anahiem Los Angeles Angels, or where ever they are from this year, for that angel in the outfield from the movies. You know the one that looks like Dr. Emmitt Brown and Jim Ignatowski. Just for Sunday games.
Or maybe we already did and he takes Sundays off? Pretty spooky.
