Some very out-depth analysis of the pitching match up tonight..
Cubs: Dempster is still looking for that first road win. He's 9-0 at Wrigley, and 0-3 in seven starts on the road. His last outing against the White Sox was the first time he'd been roughed up. The right-hander gave up eight runs on seven hits and three walks in 2 1/3 innings, his shortest outing of the season. The problem was that he couldn't get away with any mistakes.
Giants: A solid five innings of work weren't enough to net Correia a victory in last appearance. Against the cross-bay rival Athletics, Correia allowed just one run and four hits, but his pitch count (102) was high and he was pulled before the sixth in a tie game. After missing more than six weeks with a strained muscle in his left side, Correia has been healthy for his last three turns in the rotation. He has improved in each of those appearances, allowing five, three and one run, respectively.
