Sydor Eaton Goligoski are left No way they keep 9 defenceman. So who stays who goes

I've gotta believe they will figure out a way to move Sydor's $2.5M cap hit, but they missed the buyout period, so who knows.  My guess his they'll waive him and hope there is a taker out there.  No chance anyone will actually trade for him at that rate.

Eaton will play before Scuderi.  Well, who knows with Therrien ... but Eaton when healthy is better than Scuderi.

Not sure what will happen with GoGo now.  Guess he will be back with the Baby Pens and be called up for injuries.  Can he play a wing?  Haha ... kidding.  (sort of)

I doubt the Pens trade Whitney ... as has been rumored.  With the money that is being thrown around on defensemen now, his $4M/year salary doesn't look so daunting anymore.

In reading the latest comments from Shero, I expect the Pens to sign two forwards for the price of Hossa.  Not sure who they will be or for how long, but that is what Shero said.  The PPG also reported that Naslund is still being looked at, but that Jagr really isn't a consideration at this point.

Shero also said that he needs to replace the toughness and grit lost by Malone, Roberts and Ruutu leaving.  He may sign a FA for this, but he also mentioned Ryan Stone by name ... so expect Stone to get a serious look at making the big club this season.

There's also some implications that Staal will move up to take Malone's spot ... at least on the PP.  Not sure about 5-on-5.
