I agree we're subdividing into more special interest areas. In the early years of mass communication you were limited to 3 major tv networks and some pretty bland radio. Then along came cable and you had 600 options including a huge number of news channels. All of a sudden you can watch a conservative news show and opt out of cnn or msnbc. It tends to make people seperate into factions. Our society is becoming more like cable. People are breaking into Black Americans, Conservative Am., Liberal Am., Red Staters, etc. The single thing that has bothered me the most is that how the political party out of office will say and do anything to get back in office. Then when they get in office they don't do a single thing they promised. I don't believe for 1 minute that Obama will do anything to improve the

country. He will say or do whatever his advisors tell him he needs to do to get elected. I'm not so sure about McCain but I think he is closer to expressing what he believes over what people tell him to say.

Obama is quite a piece of work. No accomplishments as a politican, none in the business world, none in the military. This must be the new formula for a presidential candidate, don't do anything and you can't have done anything wrong. Don't take any chances and you can't fail. This is one sorry election.

Sad thing is, McCain is not a whole lot better.  Ronald Reagan we miss you.

I'm not sure I'm in 100% agreement, except the part about My President.  The good news is that McCain has done a lot as a politician-legislatively, and in a bipartisan way.
The bad news is also that he has done a lot as a politician.  He has not done anything as a businessman.  He was heroic in the service to our country, which says a lot about character.  That is why I think so many have mixed emotions about him.

I have mixed emotions about McCain until I look at option Obama and all of my mixed emotions vanish.

Of note: Total I read Bush had an approval rating of 28%, only to be outdone by congress at 18%.

I'd give Bush a 33 approval rating (two dawgs rating system)

75/100 on terror

25/100 on domestic politics

25/100 on the economy

Where is Ron Reagan when we need him.

He did hid duty. I joined the military after the draft was over. Im sorry bitter old men like you don't understand people that join the military to serve our military to serve the country we love we are not told we have to serve,  we do it becouse we love our country!!! I served under Slick Willy who i thought was an embarassment to our country being a pot smoking draft dodging idiot. I still served with pride even though your PREZ hated the military. Barack Husian Obama is even worse, but i still love my country enough to serve. He hates anybody that is not white. I LOVE ALL PEOPLE THAT LIVE IN THE USA.

Well you have got to hand it to McCain, he might be turning 72, but he still has some life in him.
