I am hearing that the Pens are not done yet. Good news, good news! Let finish this and make my day end even better.

8,

I'm relaxed, no offense.  I just really want to see it, because I really don't feel like we have the space.  Don't get me wrong I really wanted to sign him, but the closer we get to the cap the more I realize signing Hossa was not a good idea.  We'd have been left with zero space and far more young or journey men guys.

We still need to fill 3 roster spots on our 23 man roster.  I think this will end up being a better team than if we had signed any of the guys you mentioned.

He's not my favorite guy, but I'll predict Satan scores 25 goals (Malone scored 27 last year remember).  I don't know enough about Fedotenko but I hear he's more potential than production but we'll see.  I wonder how the NYI feel about facing these guys next year? (just a thought).

If we can land Matt Cooke and say we call up Stone and hopefully find a place for Sydor...with all the young guys signed long term...we'll all be enjoying playoff hockey and a cup or 2 or 3.

From what I have heard Bertuzzi wants $3million+ per season. I don't think he's in the Pens' plans.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about either of these guys but they are relatively inexpensive (for a reason) and the contracts are only for 1 year.

While I don't see anyone coming close to beating Detroit this year, the East is still very weak so I like our chances of getting back to the finals, especially if we can pull off another deadline deal or two.

Here's a conspiracy theory for you: What if Shero and Hossa concluded that a long term deal is not possible this year due to salary cap considerations so, with a wink and a nod, Shero tells Hossa to go ahead and sign a one year deal with Detroit, get your cup, and then we'll talk long term contract next year when we have more flexibility.  Meanwhile, we lock up our core long term and get a couple of fill-ins on one-year deals.

Your response: That's so stupid it's brilliant!
