Seriously everyone needs to leave Hamga alone. How many minutes has he played in D 1 basketball ? 0....... Who has he gone up against ?NBA players and Australian NBL players...... He is a FRESHMAN people a FRESHMAN............. It's really starting to piss me off.....Who was the one saying he was 1 and done The "Fans" I said it but ya he's not going to be 1 and done we all know that.... But he is going to be damn good 7 ft Center in the MWC as a Freshman so Im definetly happy with that.... another thing that makes me mad is this whole " Itchy and Scratchy" it started in Australia saying that every time he gets injured he rubs it and scratches it..... I would seriously love for ANYONE on this message board on " Rivals" to go and play center and tell me how you feel.... Sorry Im just a little Fustrated With How people are so Down on Hamga.... If he came in and averaged 9- 10 PPG along with 8 or 9 RPG I would be extremely happy as a freshman.....

Wow, don't get all bent out of shape over a couple people's comments.  By and large, we have all accepted that Beas is not going to be a world beater and will be a Rebel for the next few years.   Beas is just being introduced to the world of sports, media, and the expectations that go along with being a former 5-star recruit.  If his feelings are hurt because of what people are saying, maybe he doesn't belong on the court.  I hope that if he reads this, that his feelings are not hurt, but that he works with a chip on his shoulder.

We think most of us are excited about his potential, it will just take a while to realize any of it.  I think 10 ppg and 9 rebs a game may be a little stretch for this season. I think 4 to 6ppg-7reb is a little more realistic from what I've seen.

The title of this thread reminded me of one of the most popular youtube clips ever.  Just insert Beas for Brittney and edit the content with lv1ptchr2's post.  haha...remember lv1, I'm just funnin' with ya!

I posted this on another thread a few minutes ago. No need to get stressed out. Beas is a plus to the Rebels, he wasn't the only player that was going to make this team great. We've been talking about its depth, and it does have DEPTH! Everyone relax and let Beas develop.

As he positions better and increases his bulk and strength, he'll just get better. Too much was expected too soon. He's a great talent that will take a while to reach his apex. But look out when he gets there. LK, Hill & Staff will make him a great player. </td> </tr> </tbody> </table>

Hamga's very presence, particularly on the defensive end, should be hugely valuable to UNLV this season.

UNLV is not lacking in terms of scoring options.  Wink, Darger, Willis, and Rougeau will all likely be double digit scorers this year.  Wink will probably be around 17-18 per, and don't be surprised if Darger puts up around 15 per.  Even Mo Rutledge will be relied upon to provide some scoring off the bench.

Hamga will be just fine.  If he can rebound, block and change some shots, and simply be an inside presence, he will be extremely important to UNLV's success this upcoming season.

Hamga will be a solid player.  Kruger and crew are amazing at developing big men.  You are 100% correct and he has not even faced a D1 opponent yet.  Plus...he is a freshmen.  I think everyone expects more from him since he red-shirted last season and a 5 star prospect.  Listen...we do not want a superstar out of the gate...we want someone who is going to work hard and get better day in day out.  Someone who wil be an anchor of our team for future years to come.  We are going to be big for several years to come...7-0 Hamga, 6-10 Massamba and hopefully 6-10 Okonji.  Talk about a combination of twin towers to come.  Don't be surprised Beas is a 4 year Runnin' Rebel.  Lon Kruger likes to recruit for the long term and not one and dones.

Beas isn't here to be a huge scorer. He will be what Essengue and Anthony were...a shotblocking/rebounding presence. And he will split time with Massanba to have 10 fouls to give. 6-8 ppg 6-8 rpg and 3-6 bkpg would be wonderful. Now three years from now...that's a different story! And I don't care about his Freshman numbers so much anyway...LON DEVELOPS BIG MEN!
