i mean cmon 11 hits only 2 runs to show for it.
get rid of vidro he is a waste we dont need avg which he hasnt been doing lately more like hitting into DPs with him having no speed and all.
get rid of sexson he is only hitting singles
trade beltre we need prospects
trade washburn we need prospects and i bet philly would give up something for him the way he dominated the Padres and Blue Jays if he has another good start we will get a buyer
maybe even trade bedard and ichiro it might be time as much as i hate to sqay it because id like to keep both but the way ichiro has been swinging lately we could get something for him

I have to disagree with your post.
Vidro: I think you are right there, we need a better DH than him.
Sexson: I have been rooting for his sorry case for talent to be cut for almost 2 years now.
Beltre: I disagree with you here. I have faith that Beltre's average will climb, and he already has decent power numbers. Also, when you look at his glove, he can't be beat at third base.
Washburn: I have never really been a fan of this one. A trade might be good if we actually got a good deal for him. With our new GM, maybe some goods trades and moves will happen in the (near) future.
Bedard: He has had a rough time with injuries and what not; he was the one trade I was happy with in the offseason, but you are right, he's got to start putting it together.
Ichiro: Come on, he's a franchise player, you just can't trade someone like that.
So I guess I don't really disagree with your entire post, you made some valid points, and I think having some more power and home runs would fill a few more seats.

I agree with you CougsMan, and what do you all think of clement, i know he is the future and all, but he strikes out an awful lot, and the more at bats he gets still looks the same.

i dont want to say it but ichiro wants to be on a team that can win thats why i think he wants to be traded remember he has started to hint at the fact he wants to be traded to a contender. and clement i disagree with you the more ABs hes gotten hes actually seeing the ball alot better. he doesnt know how to pull the trigger on an offspeed yet but give him time i believe next year he will have a chance to be our starting DH i will admit i do not want to see kenji go i think he is a good player but having an off year thats it. if he is struggling in the beginning of next season we say goodbye to him and bring up Rob Johnson to catch and clement plays first or DHs that way we have 2 catchers on our team. why do pitchers not like kenji i have heard plenty of reports that pitchers don't like him

Celtic i agree with you about clement
Mentally he just doesnt seem to have the confidence of the big leaguer
He has struck out nearly a third of his at bats...which i think is worse rate then sexson sheesh! But you can tell he is afraid to hit with two strikes on him. Thats why he often swings at the first pitch and he does get two strikes on him its almost always a K.
I hope he can turn around....i know give him more at bats but im just not seeing the mental makeup right now. This team badly needs power from the left side as we havent really had a decent lefty power hitter since griffey left. With the shorter right field its rediculous we always sign righties as oppose to lefties

Even with his huge salary, Ichiro brings in so much money to this (Japanese owned, I believe) team that they will never trade him. Even if it would improve the team it'd be bad business.
As for the other moves mentioned I'd say that you can't release Sexson. If you can trade him for any value, that might not be a bad idea, but also if you don't trade him and another team signs him in the offseason that means draft picks for us.
Keep Beltre, he's key to this team even if he is overpaid. Also he's still only 29 (and this is his 11th season, wow) so it's not like there is no window left for him.
Clement looks terrible right now, but keep that experience coming.
I have no clue what to suggest for Washburn. Maybe go the same way as Sexson, but favoring a trade. He's starting to pitch pretty well and some team might give something for a solid (right now) lefty.

It would be nice to get a good young prospect in exchange for Sexson. We need to forget about this season, and prepare for next season, or even a little farther down the road. All I know is, the Mariners are not going to be a playoff contender for a while yet...
As for clement, I always root for the new guy, so I'm hoping he impresses the coaching staff enough to stick around till next year.
And Kenji; I've always been a fan of Kenji's, but this season his numbers have dropped off. He is getting rather old; he's something like 38, isn't he? Anyway, I never heard this stuff about pitchers not liking him, but I can tell you that as a pitcher, some catchers just make you uncomfortable on the mound.
I would be happy if the Mariners were a playoff threat by 2011-12.
