I'm sick and tired of Clay Bennett, the snake in the grass.

Funny you should say that.  There is a poll in the Seattle Post Intelligencer Online that asks Seattle fans who is to blame.  Right now, with 8357 votes, Clay Bennett gets 11%.  Howard "I'll have a double Mocha Latte" Schulz nets the most votes with 42%.  The Mayor of Seattle and Everyone get 15% and 16% respectively.  Only the NBA and No One get fewer votes than Clay.

I wish OKC had gotten a team a different way but

I'm sick and tired (to keep the post on topic )

of people throwing this on Clay.  Schulz sold the team.  Clay couldn't have purchased the team if it wasn't for sale.  He couldn't have bought it if local millionaires had shown any interest in buying the team.  He couldn't have moved it if the city, county, state had shown any interest in building new or rebuilding a 46 year old arena that had been upgraded 14 years prior.

No matter what team OKC got, it would be at the expense of another.  The NBA learned a hard lesson with the Vancouver/Memphis Grizzlies.  Overexpansion is a killer.  Plus, Seattle keeps the name, colors and history.  OKC is getting a new team.  No name, no colors, no history.

Bowe4prez,

Please understand that the previous post was NOT aimed at you.  It was vent from months of listening/reading about this.  Funny thing is, I'm not even an NBA fan!  Haven't watched a full NBA game since Michael Jordan played in Chicago, before his stint in baseball!

But while I'm venting, ladies and gentlemen, if you would indulge me one more time...

I'm sick and tired of...

Folks on the coast.  Either one.  They all seem to have the same attitude.  If you can't see the ocean from downtown, you don't matter.  I can't tell you the number of absolutely idiotic, nasty, racist, dumba$$ comments I've had to listen to and read in the last several months, all directed at my adopted home state and city.  The same kinds of comments I've heard directed at Boise, even though all y'all are a little closer to the big water than us.  Apparently, unless you have over 3 million people, traffic jams and high crime rates, you don't count.  People who have never set foot outside of Washington are breaking out with toothless, inbred hick remarks, talking about the dirty state, etc.  I've seen similar comments about Boise on here.  Now, I've never had the opportunity to visit Boise but I have been up the road at Mountain Home and I have visited Coeur d'alene and if either are any indication, sign me up.

Sorry, I'm tired and just a little bit pi$$y right now.  I'm not a fan of snobs to begin with and when their venom and snobbery is directed at a place they have never even been, it kinda gets my goat.

Thanks for the venting space.   I guess we'll just show them what's what when we roll into Husky stadium on September 13 and stomp 'em into a mudhole!  Unless, of course, we get ducked!

"Thanks for the venting space."

And a fine job you did at it SA !

I had the opportunity to travel around in Oklahoma one summer. Spent about two weeks there. Never was in any big city. Mostly was around the Indian territory. Visited everything I could that didn't have "tourist" attached to it. I was pretty impressed and was well worth seeing what I consider the "real" Oklahoma.

Also, most people in Idaho have no real kindred feelings for Washatonians.....

GO BRONCOS !!!!

That's alright SoonerAlum, No offense taken.

I'm actually from the Midwest and am happy to see a team this close to me. I just feel sorry for the Supersonics' fans that have to live with this decision. This happened to my dad with the Kansas City Kings and he has probably seen only a hour worth of the NBA since.

I will support the new team, and look forward to seeing them play, life. Will always be ashamed how they got to OKC, though.

I'm going to change it from I'm sick and tired of Clay Bennett to...

I'm sick and tired of Bennett, the mayor of Seattle, the former owner of the Sonics, and Big Business all around.
