I turn the volume all the way down when I watch Mets broadcasts on the WB network.  I really can't stand to hear how great Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling were in their careers compared to what they are seeing on the field now.  They were both good ballplayers in their prime, but they both seem to have egos the size of Shea Stadium.  Let it go...they are the Joe Theismans of baseball broadcasts.  Enough already!!

Now a days, Hernandez wishes people remembered him as much from the playing field as they do from "Seinfeld" and "Just for Men" ads. He likes talking about himself almost as much as Joe Morgan. If I have to hear him tell us he's in the hall of fame one more time, I'll stop watching Sunday Night Baseball.

If anyone deserves the criticism it's Reyes.  He's in his fifth year on the team, but still acts as if he's in fifth grade.  Between his sulking and asinine dance celebrations, he's an embarassment at times.  He's got a ton of talent, but it is time for him to grow up.   The team's not even at .500 yet- shut up and win- starting this weekend at CItizens Bank Park.

I agree 100% with Hernandez. What is he in 5th grade? Throwing your glove down after an error is supposed to stop after tee ball. Reyes is another over-hyped, over-rated NY product. Talk about a guy who only plays when he feels like it. Just like half the Met roster.
Met fans will defend him to the death until the day he is traded and the real feelings will come out. And he will be traded 1 day because there is only so much of the antics you can deal with.

While Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling aren't the greatest booth guys on the planet, Hernandez was right on with his comments concerning Jose Reyes. I'm not going to go as far as some ridiculous Mets fans and say that we should trade Reyes (that's just plain stupid), but he would be much better served if he would grow up. He is no longer the 21 year old phenom that should be given the benefit of the doubt when he throws a temper tantrum or some other gaff that should see him ride the pine for a game. You are right when you say that both Hernandez and Darling have egos the size of Shea though. Problem is, Reyes's ego effects the outcome of games while as you pointed out, we can turn the volume down on the set and skip listening to Hernandez and Darling if you so choose.

I despise the Mets but Keith Hernandez is a good announcer and I like that he doesn't suck up to the team because they are paying his salary etc and he just says what needs to be said and in this case he is right. Reyes is a big time baby and is treated as such by the Mets. Showing up your teammates is not cool and should be addressed. He showed up his manager too in his first game. The Mets have been playing well of late and this is not something they need.

It is getting real close to the point where they may have to trade him. Reyes is becoming a cancer to the team. He's not like Bonds where he can guide a team, so really the Mets don't ave to put up with a ballplayer with his attitude.

See the Marlins got sick of Cabreras attitidue and shipped him and they're a better team without Miggy. Guys like this you can win without. Few guys like Bonds you can win without. Not praising Bonds or anything like that, but he was the only reason the Giants even made the playoffs so many times.
