	The fact that you have acknowledged the Tampa Fans is reason alone that we do not need to "shut up". The Rays have not had a winning tradition, we were held back by a greedy owner that was only concerned with the bottom line. Fact is that attendence is up and will continue to get better. The Rays do not have a storied history that has built a great fan base. Teams like the Red Sox, Yankees, and Cubs have been building their fan base for generations on top of generations. We can blame poor attendence on the down economy, high gas prices, non-believers, or we can simply say that it is a combination of things and that it will get better as long as the product is entertaining. If the Rays keep this up you will see that stadium sold out in no time at all. Tampa fans support their sports when the team makes an effort to win. If the owners of a sports team don't care about the quality of product then why should the fans care about the team?

	no tough love but no way on earth are the Rays going to make the playoffs the Yankees will destroy the Rays and then Boston will destroy the Yankees

	I am in no way going to pencil the Rays as a playoff team just yet, we are only half way in, and there is a lot of baseball to be played. However, I do think the AL Wild Card is their's to lose. They are currently 17 above .500, and the closest is either the yanks or the a's, both floating around 6-7 games over. I'd like to see the statistics over the first half of the season of who has had the toughest schedule, because looking back, the rays have spent most of their time playing 1st and 2nd place teams, and looking forward, they play a lot of the central(Royals!), and play a lot of lower tier teams and should be able to put together some win streaks. So before yankee and Twins fans get too excited, remember you are putting these runs together against teams like the royals and Padres.... not the Cubs and Angels.

	The Rays will get destroyed you say? Have you watched any baseball this year? Any at all? From my point of view the Rays as of right now are doing the destroying.

Then it was only May. Now it is only June and IF ( I am aware it is a large if) we sweep Boston at home as they already have this year they could be in first place by the all star break. I am not guaranteeing a playoff spot but I wish everyone would give the Ray some credit for what they have been doing on a consistant basis. When the week started they had the 4th best record in MLB having swept the top three ahead of them. I think they have earned the right to be considered contenders.
