I was watching the game this afternoon, and Trinni was interviewing one of the front office guys, and he was talking about how the team has a big announcement to make this sunday about one of their players...
Is it like a new contract someone might have signed? Or something stupid like one of our guys made the All-Star lineup or something?
I heard something like that. But I heard him say that hopefully we have a big announcment on Ryan Braun making the All-Star game on Sunday. I would be very surprised if somebody signed long term.
That it's Ryan Braun making the All-Star Game would make sense--the announcement of the starters is on Sunday, and the Brewers have been aggressive as a Chicago precinct captain to get the votes out for the Brauntasaurus. He was in a close fight with Fukudome for the third NL slot.
I also don't think it's a trade because word would have leaked out more, plus it'd partly be in the hands of the the other team. Those tend to get announced right away. I do recall they hyped Ryan Braun's signing announcement, so something like that is a possibility--but I am still betting that it's Braun on the All-Star team.
Being that the All Star selection is Sunday that would make sense that the announcement is Braun is starting. Is that really a big announcement though? In my opinion it's not but because it was almost expected especially with the Soriano injury. Also, would they really need to interview someone from the front office for that. Something coming from the front office would have me thinking trade or signing but on the other hand why wouldn't they just announce that right away. I'm confused.
