In 1961 or 1962 When the Dodgers played at the LA Coliseum, my father insisted we leave a game when the Dodgers were down 8-2 or 9-3 or so in order to beat the traffic.
We left starting at the bottom of the 9th. Wouldn't you know it; by the time we got to the parking lot it was 8-4. By the time we got out of the parking lot, it was 8-6 with 2 outs.
By the time we hit the freeway it was tied, now with 2 outs. Of course the Dodgers won 9-8.
I made a vow to never leave a game early and have remained true to my vow. Sometimes the D-backs give me consideration, but I alway stay. You never know. That is why it is such a great game, like last night. WOW!
