OT Mario Henderson

Height: 6-7

Weight: 300

The Oakland Raiders selected Florida State OT Mario Henderson in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft.

The 6'7", 310-pound Henderson played in 28 of a possible 51 games during his career at Florida State. In 2006, he played in all 13 games on the offensive line.

Biography:

Full-time starter as a senior at left tackle. Used at right tackle and tight end early in his Florida State career.

Positives:

Athletic blocker with terrific size. Quickly gets hands into defenders, adjusts in pass protection and controls opponents at the point. Keeps his feet moving, blocks with leverage and displays the ability to slide laterally. Shows some smarts to his game yet also plays with a nasty attitude, working to finish blocks.

Negatives:

Lacks the dominant base and is just an average run-blocker. Stands to improve his playing balance.

Analysis:

Possessing terrific upside, Henderson blocks with solid fundamentals and has an understanding of the position. Needs to improve his playing strength and iron out the rough edges of his game, yet offers starting possibilities in the NFL after a few years.

Kurtz, Tenney, and some others, Quit hatin', Mario Henderson could become a Franchise OT for the Oakland Raiders.

And if a frog had wings it woudnt bump its ass on the ground when it hopped.

Im not doubting that he COULD be something special but he couldnt beat out Green last year and might not be able to this year. But just as sure as he could be great McFadden could be junk. You just dont know in the NFL it doesnt matter where you are drafted from what school and yadda yadda yadda yadda the bottom line is preperation and talent.

Yeah and I'm sure Maurice Clarett could have become a franchise RB for the Denver Broncos. Your statement is more retarded than a Japanese horror film. Of course anyone could become anything. If they have the work ethic and talent....something Henderson hasn't shown. Get over him. You can't even form your own opinions, 89.

tenney you hush, no questioning the grand pooh-bah 89!

Okay 89, you got the guy you wanted drafted.  Great.  Doesn't all of a sudden make you more knowing than any other fan so don't try to sell your opinion as gospel and tell others they can't have their own.

Mario Henderson barely played in (and didn't start) half of his college games.  He hasn't shown the passion or physicality to make it at this level, which was the knock on him in college.  He has gotten his butt whooped in OTA's.  Yes, potentially he could be a franchise tackle for the Raiders, but he hasn't shown a friggin thing positive so if someone wants to hate on him they have more evidence on their side than you do on yours.

Seriously, every mock draft and NFL expert had Oakland taking McFadden. Big fuggen deal. I didnt want him and gave reasons why.

As far as Mario Henderson goes, Im pulling for him dude, I said that to begin with. That doesnt make his outlook any brighter, now does it? He didnt see the
